Can It Replace Your Adams 9064LS?

Got to say….out of all the emails I get from readers regarding drivers the one I get the most frequent is about the Adams 9064LS.  Ever since our review…I have gotten literally hundreds of gushing emails from readers that made the switch to the 9064LS and couldn’t be happier.  And for all of you that send me emails…I will try to answer the one question most of you have right now…yes I still have it in my bag and as far as I know so does GolfSpy T.

DETAILS – Adams Speedline F12 Driver

I knew the 9064LS driver days were numbered though…because I knew its replacement was right around the corner.  And late last night I got to see what its replacement would be.  It’s called the Adams Speedline F12 LS Driver and its crown is very similar to the F11 with a slight shape change.  The crown will also be a satin silver.  It will have a moveable weight and an adjustable neck for shaft length change.

This one will be hitting shelves around >>November<<…along with 3 wood and hybrids.

I have to agree with the comments on the 9064 Series. This is the BEST! driver I have owned and will not be changing any time soon. I have tried them all Titleist ,Ping, Taylor Made. Nothing performs for me as well as my 9064LD 8 degree driver with Axivcore tour green X shaft.

Question: Is the numerical lineage of the Adams drivers/fw metals getting a little screwy or is it me..They’ve had two lines, the 90 series(9015, 9032, 9064) which were more traditional & called a “players” driver(although quite a few of the pros play the F series drivers), then they had the F(Fast) series(original Speedline, F10, F11)..I understand the the 4G Ultralite was introduced to appease the lighter, faster, longer crowd, though their latest released driver, the 9082UL looks like it’s a 2nd generation 4G Ultralite, the numerical classification aside…It appears as though they took the LS(Low Spin) from the 9064 series & applied it to the F12..So not only is the 9064 being discontinued, the 90 series is dead..A pity..The 9064LS is the best driver I’ve had in my bag in a long time..Nothing against the F12 or the 9082UL(I own one), though they are not the total package that the 9064 is…Greens & Fairways 4ever….

I think its lots of fun. Pretty simple and as someone else already mentioned, its wonderful to see they didn’t add any “tech” talk and 27 different numbers in the sole but just the name of the driver. I can’t wait for it to be one year old and buy it used! lol

Jeez MGS, change the title already – it’s the FAST 12, not F12. We can read.

don’t judge a book by its cover! remember it’s made by adams golf,so give it a try and the line may be devine, and there’s no need for extra speed.good luck at our lady of green fairways…

If these can skip the RIP shafts and offer something better we’re in business…

Any clue if they have face angle adjust? Some liked the square 9064, I personally kept my open 9015d instead.

Fellas, it is safe to say Adams has consistantly launched the best looking and best performing products in the industry over the past 3 years. I am sure the picture is not doing the product justice. 9064 has been the best driver, CB 2 and A12 irons the best, Pro Black and A12 hybrids the best.

I like it. Different somehow, simpler…perhaps a “proto” look to it. Agree with someone else that a stealthier graphics color would be sick.
This teaser pic is nice but pleeeease, put up the other two angles!
Nice work Adams, you too MGS.

I play the F11 and though it is quite gaudy, it is not as loud as this baby. None the less, my interest has still been piqued. My F11 is a super driver that I bought instead of the 9064LS. It was just more consistent, even though the cosmetics look funkier. (Thus a plug for Steve Almo’s view of us taking technology to task more than cosmetics as a valid viewpoint.) . I am interested in swinging this one, as the new Adams Driver for the Long Drives Association has a crown that is more in line with the busier looking crown of my F11. I really don’t care that much about the sole, since I never see it at address. Does the crown on this one feature the same “shark fin” looking striations as that of the F11?

Bernie, I love your club reviews…The best, most objective, and thorough individual based reviews on the net, barr none…I was playing the 9064 LS & needless to say, loved its performance…Adams rep let me hit the 9088 UL @ demo day, and well, it has replaced the 9064…Have you had a chance to hit the 9088 yet?…Thoughts?…Keep up the great reviews..Forged4ever……

Although the the design layout leaves something to be desired, at least Adams did not attempt to educate us with worthless wording(club features) like so many OEMs do today..Ex: On most Cleveland irons you have “Laser Milled” or “Zip Grooves”(for those lucky few, you can have both features inscribed on the same club), Cobra tips in with their “E9 Face Technology” feature & if that’s not enough, on the S2 Forged sticks, you have not one Cobra Logo, but less than 1/2″ away, a second logo..Even my beloved Mizuno, which is far and away the most conservative of the manufacturers, felt a need to put the feature “Quad Cut Grooves” with a cutter logo for extra emphasis on their MPT11 wedges…I’m sitting here looking at my MP-58s & just noticed the “Dual Muscle Ti” inscribed towards the heel…You get the message…I would hand each & every design engineer a picture of the WS FG-17, Titleist 680, & Mizuno MP-68 & regardless of class of club(SGI, GI, Players, etc,) tell them to keep it simple…Wasn’t life easier when it was simpler…I know my golf game sure the hell was…MGS, keep up the great work!..Forged4ever….

This will be marketed as the FAST 12 (i.e. Fast 10), not F12. Small detail.

I like it. Smooth and not all cluttered with useless graphics and color changes. I have a true Proto 9015D and a 9064 sitting in the garage, heads only. Probably ought to shaft at least one up and give it a go, eh?

Good one Ben! If Adams are going to keep the lettering scheme at least change the colour to a darkish grey, try to hide it.

This isn’t about the new driver per se, but I became an Adams Golf fan today. For whatever reason I avoided this brand, and today at Golf Galaxy decided to hit the CB2 irons. WOW. Really, really great clubs. Feel, forgiveness, balance. I also hit the A12 hybrid and also was very impressed with this club too. In fact, despite having way too many clubs now as it is, if I had the disposable income, I’d have bought the CB2 irons right there. Adams is definitely on my radar now, and am looking forward to checking out the F12 driver soon too. Keep up the great job MGS!

I have CB2 irons and the A12 and for the first time in a few years I am not changing a thing in my bag. Adams is becoming the coolest brand out there, every single person that tries any of my clubs is always impressed.

I own a 9064LS and will not be looking to try this if this is actually what it looks like.
Did they co design this with Tonka? , put 4 wheels on it and let the kiddies play with it in the sandbox.

I completely agree, Ben. I thought the Wilson was hideous, but wow…. this is THE worst sole plat I’ve ever seen from Adams (or any other OEM). I guess they only had 5 minutes to slap some graphics on it. Can’t wait to see the crown. Looks like Adams finally hopped on the white bandwagon and added some red too.
