So to assume that if one needs a softer insert on a specific course and vice versa…I get that.
What I don’t get is this: most of us change putters, if we are playing a course with slower or rougher greens versus fast and smooth.., we cannot change putters mid course…unless you have two putters in your bag. Further I’m going to assume that the pga will not let any adjustment to occur once the round has started…like they do on adjustable drivers now.
      So why this?
I understand the tech…I just don’t see it taking off…

I like the idea behind the flip-face . I guess you’d adjust it for fast or slow greens , weather conditions etc , But I must say the metal-X looks superb , is the retail cost known yet ? I gotta get me one of them …….

I would like to try the flip-face, it looks like something that would work depending on the type of the greens that you play on, soft for some greens and firm for the other greens.

It’s been mentioned elsewhere but if you scuff the bottom of the putter (which many people do) and Flip the Face then the topline is going to look like crap.

Metal X no.8 just looks fantastic! I can’t wait to see it in the flesh. Only that Ghost blade (which looks just as cool) which might not make it to retail, is it’s rival!

Does not make me want to go out and buy one, I’ll pass on this lackluster technology.

Not to sound like a broken record, but damn, that Metal-X 8 is Sweet!..I’d blacken out the sight line on the flange & she’s ready to roll…I’m sure they’ve done tons of lab testing, though my concern w/the Flip Face would be that the modular/insert piece would become loose over time if you were constantly flipping it..Probably unfounded, though just a thought…Quick rules question, if anyone knows for sure: You are not allowed to make any intra-round changes to an adjustable club so I would think that with this putter whichever side that you started the round with is the side that you would have to use for the whole round, correct?…Fairways & Greens 4ever….

Metal X 8 is eye candy and bears the name of a rockstar. I’d like to get my hands on one.

Two different inserts. White Ice (soft) on one side and Metal X (firm). Hopefully one will be coming in for review and I can let you know if this is useful or if one would just likely stick to the insert they like best.

I’m willing to bet it’s the latter. Think about it: Tiger Woods does well or fails with a metal-faced Cameron, repeats the process with a totally different shaped grooved/polyfilled Method putter. It isn’t the putter- it’s the puttee.

The Flip Face putters look horrible! Way too gimmicky! The others, however, look pretty solid. I especially like the blade Metal-X putter.

Hasn’t worked for anyone else using interchangable faces… I don’t see why Odyssey’s willing to go this route. Oh, wait- since they’re a major player, they’ll OBVIOUSLY do it better than anyone else. LOL.
