(4) Testers Wanted: Sun Mountain Golf Bags

What do you look for in a golf bag?

Do you like pockets, putters wells and full length dividers, or are you a minimalist looking for simple and lightweight for your weekly 6-mile hike?

Or do you simply want something that looks sweet and will impress the ladies?

Sun Mountain Golf Bags 1

Testers Wanted!

Whether you’re a walker or a rider, Sun Mountain has golf bags they think will fit your needs. The minimalist, and aptly named, 2Five bag weights in a 2.5 lbs, has 4 pockets and, we’re told, is super-comfy to carry.

Sun Mountain’s C130 is the troop transport of golf bags: 14 full-length dividers, 10 pockets and a putter well.

Do these bags fit the respective needs of the walker and the rider?

We’re looking for 4 of you to test and review these bags for us and tell us how they perform.

I’d be happy to do it but I will guarantee you won’t like the results. For walkers, you have already defined “Golf Bags”…it’s called Zero Gravity. Why would you have any other walking bag without that option? I’ve got several layers of wool to pad the shoulder straps but it really doesn’t matter because when I cinch the belt up, it relieves a good portion of the weight off shoulders. The first one I got used, the second is in use, and the third one is high on a shelf waiting to be needed.
Please do not take offense, but the first thing to go (ironically) is the belt (?). I get the weight lifters belt from Dick’s. It fits perfectly and the Velcro is brainless (never have to look for a buckle hole).

Tim, from R.I in spring and summer, and the villages fl, fall and winter. last 2 cart bags are dratek, they are ok but i think a little overpriced, mostly ride for 18 hole courses but walk with clickgear on the par 3’s. use the same bag. play 2-3 times aweek in the north and up to 5 times a week in Fl. would like to try the c130.

I WOULD LOVE TO TEST THE 2Five bag 2.5lbs. I’m 73 yrs old and my carry bag is about worn out as I walk, carry 10 clubs 4 days a week in the Atlanta, GA area.

Purchased a C130 last year, it was the biggest waste of money. It doesn’t have a large internal cylinder inside the bag to keep items in the pouches from interfering with the clubs being put into the bag. Purchased a Ping DLX bag to replace it for about the same price, put what ever you want in the pouches and it does not interfere with clubs.
Great bag, I would Highly recommend the Ping DLX over the Sun Mountain Bags anytime!

I’m a bag snob, I have four bags presently. I have only gamed or carried to the range the first three a handful of times each. I need to be able to fit everything I might need in my bag and its need to be where I think it should be when I need it. In other words I need a place for everything and everything in its place. Figuring this out is sometime hard to do standing in the store and takes a few rounds to try and get correct. My current bag is a cart bag from Ping I would rate it an 8 out of 10 it really need one more pocket and better lifting system. I carry it to the range at least 3 days a week and game it at least once a week. I ride most of the time but will sneak out for a quick 9 with a push cart at least twice a month. Looking forward to for chance to provide a review in support of My Golf Spy.

I currently have a Callaway cart bag and used to have a sun mountain cart bag. I would love the opportunity to test the new sun mountain cart bag.

Have had SM bags for years and have been very happy. However, the 2.5 is a disappointment. The bag looks great but wear is atrocious. Club protectors have frayed. The bottom of the small top pocket has come appart. I think light has become too light.

As I currently use the SM Four 5 bag, typically on my Clicgear cart, I don’t need to participate but wanted to voice my approval of the bag itself. It’s really well made from durable materials and has a lot of pockets for storage too. I like the 14 way divider and it works pretty well although depending on what you put in the pockets it can bind up the clubs a bit, but nothing too horrible. Overall great bag. The only think I would definitely improve on would be the folding legs tension – they fold far too slow and if you’re not paying attention they will stay partially open and cause a tripping hazard. However I mostly use my cart so it’s a minor problem.
