(6) TESTERS WANTED: Ben Hogan PTx Irons

What should a Game Improvement iron actually do?

Let you get away with bad swings? Or maybe, you know, help improve your game?

Testers  Wanted

The new Ben Hogan Golf Equipment Company says there’s a difference between shot improvement and true game improvement. Shot improvement lets you get away with mistakes, but game improvement mitigates your mistakes while giving you enough feedback to help you strike the ball better today, tomorrow and next week.

Ben Hogan PTx irons - 10

Hogan says its new PTx irons not only forgive you your trespasses, but through feedback will help you in your journey to become a better ball striker.

MyGolfSpy wants 6 of you to help us learn if that’s true.

How To Apply:

Hogan is providing MyGolfSpy with 6 sets of the new PTx irons for our readers to test and review (and keep). We take our club testing very seriously, so please read the following instructions very carefully.

To review the Hogan PTx irons:

– If you haven’t already, you must join the MyGolfSpy Community Forum (click here to join).

– Apply in the Official MyGolfSpy Forum Ben Hogan PTx Iron Testing Application Thread (click here).

It’s that easy.

Ben Hogan PTx irons - 9

Remember, to be eligible you must apply in the official MyGolfspy Ben Hogan PTx Testing Application Thread.

I have waited years to be a golf tester. I play around 150 rounds a year and walk the course. My HC is 14, and I am 71 years of age.

I have used several sets of Hogan irons. I have a set of Hogan blade on blade irons given to me over 45 years from Charles Coody when he played on the PGA tour in his early days on the Hogan staff. As an old teaching pro it would be nice to compare the PTx irons to the Hogan irons I have and a set of Mizuno cavity backs. My handicap is old age but still have a 6. from shorter tees play Mizuno irons age 67
      Thanks

      I often wonder…

What are the IQ’s of those incapable of reading the most basic instructions to enter a contest…
That needs you simply to “post your info”… In the official thread.

Instead they post on here in this thread & proudly announce…
      ” I’m chuck doorknob ”
      ” from Albuquerque nm”
      “32 hdcp ”

All they ask is you go to an official thread in forum yet contest after contest a huge amt of people post here.

I did test those irons about 3 weeks ago. Hogan Co. Sent me a 27 and 43 degrees and I hit them. They aren’t bad. I would play them if they were free or cheap but if have to pay $100 for each club I would choose the Fort Worth irons. More my style.

Currently playing TM Rocketbladez. Haven’t played Hogan’s since I bought a set of Radials way back when and more recently a 60 degree forged wedge I called “Mr. Hogan”. Watched the video on the Ben Hogan website and the club technology and looks put me on the list.
      Thanks.

I played Hogan edge for years, then moved to Mizuno for 15 years, these irons look retro enough but packed with technology. I would love to test drive these. Hogan irons will always have a special spot in my heart.

I saw these clubs earlier this Spring and had a chance to hit a 6 iron a couple of time; it was sweet.
I’ve been looking at these on the Hogan website ever since.I would love to try a set of these clubs.

I have always played Hogan apex since the first set I won in 1976. I bought a new set of Hogan edge pro apex in 2000. Golf is about precision not forgiveness. Hitting in the sweet spot, being properly aligned and know exact distances for club selection takes care of half the game. The rest is up to our putting skills. Go find those birdies!

I had an opportunity in November to test a prototype of this club and would like to give them a test and compare to the TK Wedges and the Fort Worth irons.
