Adams Golf – Goes All Black!

No secret MGS loves most of the stuff that Adams is pumping out lately and this year looks like it will be no different.  Well at least looks wise…with their recent success of the Pro Black Hybrid which won 1st place in the 2010 MyGolfSpy PGA Show Awards they hope to continue the success of the Pro Black line with golfers.  We will have to hit them to be able to give them the official MGS thumbs up but again from first looks the news all black sticks look like they might shake up some of the big boys out there.

Let Adams know what you think about their new line-up…Give them your opinion on the NEW! Pro Black 2010 Line-up!

The Idea Pro Black hybrid looks a little too boxy for my tastes, but the Super Hybrid looks like it will better suite my eye. I can’t wait to check these clubs out and see what the numbers say.

I have to be honest…seriously considering an all Adams lineup. If they had a good custom fitting option i.e. Callaway, TM, PING etc. it would be much easier.

I am lefty and ordered the CB-2. The CB-1 model is NOT available in left-handed. Works out fine for me because I am looking for that little extra bit of forgiveness

Depending on how they perform I may have to jettison my bag and go all new. The irons are forged, great start, and Adams hybrids are always MONEY. The wedges lare probably as good too. Now if I could figure out the short game I might have something.

New Adams irons look sweet. Agree with comment that they need fitting cart options. Not sure that over the long haul I would want an all black/smoke look.

last october our ADAMS rep gave me a pro black hybrid head that i shafted and put in the bag and i promise you it wont be leaving anytime soon. the small compact head is ideal. ADAMS really takes care of industry professional’s, they are always asking if they can help us out in any way and getting a staff deal from them would maybe take two phone calls which is a rareity.weve heard about tough finacial times at adams and hope it’s all rumor because there good people. anyway this new line looks fantastic. i guess more than a few OEM’S are having their R+D’S revisit the old back/gunmetal concept , it’s amazing what comes down grapevine.

I have been playing the pro forged irons for the last two years. Great irons and hybrids. I am very interested in these new irons. Look great. Wonder if the kbs shaft is standard issue on these irons? Will they offer a set of cb wedges or are the puglielli wedges go with the set? Can’t wait for them!!!!

I have been. an Adams fan for a long time now. At least since the days of The Original Idea Irons, and the GT 383 Driver. After signing those club designers from TaylorMade, Adams, always a quality company, has gone from building nothing but safe boxy Volvos–well crafted but boring—to Maseratis that still burn rubber, but don’t need a bi-weekly tune-up just to get out of the garage. It’s amazing what they are doing, and despite a bag that I swore was set—Adams continues to find ways to make me sneak more and more of their clubs into my bag. Come on guys—-I’m only allowed 14.

That is a great looking line. I will be buying new irons and hybrids soon. This will be the first time I consider Adams. How does the black finish hold up over time?

Awesome job Adams, I have been a huge fan for a couple of years. What are the key differences with the “Super Hybrid”.

Already on my 2nd set of Adams (and a few drivers). This looks like my next set (the A4s will be kept for “emergency” use).

Also wanna throw in that they will be KBS tour black nickel shafted, available in April (hopefully the first, if not the 15th)

Word on the street is that the driver is floating around as well

Adams has always been ahead of the curve in recognizing what golfers want and this is another example. Black fiinishes look good on irons.
Now while you can’t buy a game you can buy a damn good looking bag. ;-)

I understand the liking to the black finish. However, I believe all indications would lead me to believe that the black finish will wear with use. I don’t know how excited I can get about the idea that these will look beat up with a little use. It seems the Ping Anser iron (also 8620 forged) will look very similar without the black finish. I think I will test these to see if I like the feel of 8620 carbon forged irons but will wait until the Anser’s are introduced in August/September this year. Something to think about . . .

Purchased the new CB1 and love them… Been playing the Ping I3+ for years and could not believe the ease to hit the CB1’s , plus they are a lot more accurate, at least for me… Hncp has dropped 2 strokes in last month with the new irons… Could not get the Pug’s Lob/S Wedge so went with the Cleveland CG15 in black… Now whole bag is black…
