I agree with an earlier post, run a few of last year’s winners to. The golf myth of 12yards every year…am I not as well off with last year’s model and lessons or more playing with the cost difference. After all, isn’t the reality to play not just buy and talk

As I have awaited the 2015 test pronouncement, I have used my time testing most of the drivers in the test. After hitting thousands of balls, I have concluded that my search for a driver to replace last year’s Big Bertha may have to expand beyond this year’s contestants. The only club I might consider is the Ping G30 LS which truly is a beast of a club. The two clubs currently peaking my interest are the Knuth High Heat and the Bridgestone J815. Alas! Neither were available for the MGS test. Decisions, decisions. Unfortunately, I have plenty of time to test additional clubs since our long range weather forecasts suggest that the snow on our courses might not melt until the 4th of July.

Lots of fun, but get fit and find a driver that you can tolerate the sound and feel , match with your favorite shaft and bam that is your best driver. That being said I thought the j715 was going to be a winner but after hitting it, nope. My bet is on the cobra. It is a all around great driver.

I’m going out on a limb here, but my money is on the Ping with the “Turbulator” feature.

I think your next step should be comparing last 3 or 4 years most wanted drivers to new drivers. This way would make golfers decide to replace their drivers or not

Someone on reddit suggested you should throw in the top few drivers from last year so we could see how, if any, the newer drivers have advanced

When one says testing is 76% complete when most other sites/people would just say 3/4 complete, you know it’s all about the data. Nice. Datacratic.

We’re going to wrap up within the next two weeks. We started a little slower than expected…some of that was waiting on equipment to arrive, some was familiarizing ourselves with the Foresight launch monitor (it’s awesome!), and the rest comes in the time it takes to schedule 20 guys to give you an adequate sample size of shots with 30 different drivers. Nobody really gives much thought to how this has to work on the back-end (the processing and analysis piece). When you’re dealing with that volume of data and considering things like 90% confidence ellipses it takes time. When all is said and done, I’ll have 141 different spreadsheets for this test.
