First Look at Cleveland Golf For 2011!

Our friends over at GPPGolf.com and GolfSpy X wanted to give the MGS readers the “Exclusive First Look” of the new line-up for Cleveland Golf this year. I think overall they did a nice job with the drivers and the stock shaft offering.  Their sister company Miyazaki will be providing all the shafts for their new sticks which is a nice touch. I got to hit a couple of their new woods and they felt good but even better is the way the shafts are fit for almost every type of golfer out there.  I think it will be a big advantage for the guys in the golf shops to allow them to better fit golfers with little knowledge about their games.  Looking back over the last few years at Cleveland I would say this is their strongest looking release in quite some time.

Putter Sneak-Peek Coming Soon…

Also I think you guys are really going to like their new putter line-up.  Over the next day or so we will be showing you a sneak-peek at one of the new models a little later on…and some of the other Cleveland 2011 gear…so make sure to check back to see what they had up their sleeve.  I think it is by far the best looking putter release from a major OEM for the 2011 season.

P.S. – Sneak-Peek of new putter AND MUCH MORE coming in next 24-48 Hrs!

I got fitted for the SL290 9.0 43S yesterday and love the numbers! 107mph, 15.2 launch, 2200rpm, and a nice tight draw. This a lightweight shaft but it’s very stable and consistent. I wanted a Titleist 910 but why pay extra for a shaft that is the default offering with Cleveland.

I can’t wait to hit hits this on the course! Fire it up the right side knowing it’ll turn back.

Just hit all 3 models on the range. Crazy results. Ball speed with my gamer driver was avg. 142. With the 270 Ball speed jumped to 160. Club is scary good. The shaft is amazing. Slight head wind about 5 mph gusting 10 mph with the lighter club ball still never ballooned on me into the wind. I cant say enough good things about the Club. Look forward to it’s launch.

Club looks great in person and is light! Friend of mine( pro shop owner) hit with it and loved it. Supposed to be out in Feb.

Nice pics guys. The current Launcher DST is a great stick, especially when mated to a Miyazaki shaft. I’m actually playing the new C. Kua 43 gram shaft, and I’ve been very impressed with its stability and light weight. It’s the first time I’ve played a shaft below the 70 gram range and I’m a believer!

I’ll be doing a comprehensive review of Miyazaki’s offerings very soon, along with an explanation of their proprietary International Flex Code system…

nice looking from the bottom, but only the grass gets to see that… do you have any pics from the top and face? Cleveland always made good looking drivers, so I’m confident these will look good too.

We need to see a face view and more importantly a view in the playing position at address.

I like the idea of giving players more weight choices in the heads.

Wow… those are definitely light. Nice looking too. I’ve got a Cleveland hybrid and I love that club. If these are as nice, they will definitely make a name for themselves. :)

Cleveland is not a Driver or Iron Company DId not sell DST’s well last year NOW 3 Drivers.
Give me a break. Dealers will have to stock 3 models in at least 2 Flexes. WAY too crazy.

Cleveland golf is doing the best thing possible for all golf courses when it comes to selling clubs. They take all old models back and this years demos will be able to sell back to Cleveland for the full price. This is the best demo program I have seen in my 12 years in the business.

Wow, that’s super light…might cause me to swing too hard but club head speed should be good after getting used to it. Hope it’s a forgiving face. The shaft sounds interesting. I’ll give it a go when they get to retail.

      Hi,
The tour weight driver, 310grams. Is that the combined weight of the shaft, grip and head? I saw an article earlier in the year where Jerry kelly gave some input on the way driver technology was going, lighter shaft, lighter head and lighter grip. I’m assuming this is Cleveland’s attempt at delivering this lighter club technology.
