Yes, it was sad that Tom Watson didn’t win the Open, but a great individual did, Stuart Cink and he readily deserved it. The sportscasters have overshadowed his brilliant win and I for one am getting tired of the “what could have been” while forgetting about who actually wins. Mr. Cink is a kind, thoughtful family man that plays golf for a living. What he did on the final nine holes was phenomenal and then in a playoff to go -2 for four holes. Let’s all give Stuart Cink a big hand of applaus for a great day of golf and let’s give Tom Watson his due as an aging veteran who turned back the clock to the glory days. For all of us, well, we were treated to one of those rare moments in golf and are the better for it.
