Hey, I’m Home and it Sucks

Well, unfortunately I’m back to reality after a couple of days in a fantasy world where “work” involved talking about golf equipment (some of which won’t see the light of day for months), hitting balls at TaylorMade’s Kingdom, and then actually playing golf at Torrey Pines South.

My new reality is back in front of the computer in my office, 18 holes on an over-developed goat pasture, and a holiday weekend spent with my in-laws. I should probably just be happy that nobody pooped on my desk.

This week we’ve got some new releases from PING and Mizuno, some nice Miura customs, more from the Japanese market, and my own personal glance into heaven.

      Pretty cool pics. The new ping 55 irons look like they’d be fun to hit.

      Especially liked the ‘Confidence’ Irons picture.

      Visited San Diego this February for work and made a point of it to go to Torrey Pines since I knew I’d probably never get a chance again. Of course, had to play the South course, and it was like 2 or 3 weeks after the Farmers had come through. Some of the grandstands were still up. The course was in AMAZING shape and I took tons and tons of photos, one just like the view from the tee of 3. Such an amazing course and was definitely worth the $230 I had to pay to play. I’m already trying to scrounge money together to go back soon and play again!

      I was in San Diego a few years back and unfortunately could not make the time to play there. I’ve taken advantage of pebble and spyglass, which I really enjoyed, but something tells me I’d get a kick out of playing Torrey Pines. Looks like it would be some good fun.

      Yep, I too am a tad disappointed not to see at least one “home grown” pic in the lot. It would be one thing if there were no quality pics to select from, however I’ve gotta throw my vote with Bonesy & the Bladester, with BestGrips regripped hickory sticks. Now that’s a picture, and for those of you that haven’t seen it, trust me, it’s worth seeing before ya vote. After ya see it, decide if it’s better than what you’re lookin at here.

      I’m slightly disappointed to not see BestGrips pic of the regripped set of hickory sticks, yet we get a image of Torrey Pines that I’ve seen a million times.
