A Much Needed Golf Industry Breakthrough!
Spy pics and sneak-peek photos are a big part of why readers come to MyGolfSpy…our readers come to see and read about what the future holds in regards to new club designs. But believe it or not that aspect of the site is the smallest part of our long term goals for what we want to provide for the MyGolfSpy readers. Actually the most important goal for the future of MGS is to begin to provide readers and consumers in 2011 with a pioneering way to become the absolute most informed golfers about the equipment that is offered in the market….so how do we plan to do that….keep reading and we will explain everything. There are so many choices and so many clubs being released that there needed to be a better way to help golfers decipher all the information and come away with the best informed decision on what clubs will work best for you. Again another lofty goal…but one we have been working tirelessly on for over a year now. And just a couple weeks ago GolfSpy T came up with the answer…the AHAAA moment!
A Revolutionary New Golf Club Review Process
There are a gazillion golf sites and golf magazine publications that give golf club reviews…right? I am sure you have your favorite…the Hot List being the most popular. And there are some better then others…but…over the past year we have dissected all of them…and we have found that they all have major flaws in regards to being able to provide golfers a way to make a truly well informed decision. You often come away more confused and with more questions then answers about whether or not any of the clubs these sites or magaiznes review will actually perform better then the clubs you already own. And that is the ultimate goal…if the club does not improve on what you already have you should not spend a dime on new equipment…well except for guys with putter addictions.
Reviewing clubs for golfers looks a lot easier on the surface then it actually is…once you actually begin the process you realize that there are so many variables you have to consider that often times you are left with so much data that it would simply overwhelm golfers if you were to publish it all. And that is exactly why you see the simplified versions that are currently offered in other publications. They simply give a watered down version of what could actually be published. The reason? Simply because they don’t want to overload the reader…and it absolutely would…so instead they just brush over all the most important details in order to keep you reading their page or flipping through their review. So what is the solution…and how did MyGolfSpy solve this? How is MyGolfSpy going to give us the best of both worlds….the data every one wants to see and also the information without overwhelming us?
Introducing – “The Ultimate INTERACTIVE Golf Club Review System!”
INTERACTIVE….huh…what…yes you read it right….interactive. Like Burger King said…you will get to “Have It Your Way!” For the past few months the MyGolfSpy crew has been working on this process behind the scenes and what we came up with we think will absolutely revolutionize and forever change the way golfers read golf club reviews. You might be saying to yourself, “I thought you already had a very thorough review process”. And we would agree but we always felt like we could improve on it and that there was something missing. But finding that missing piece took some time…but now we have it! So the days of going to other sites or magazines for watered down reviews we feel is now over! You will now be able to view and manipulate the results from our reviews any way you want. The new system allows us to not only publish the subjective opinions of your peers but also provide you with a mind boggling amount of data…that will not overwhelm you. And we do this by including interactive charts that give you the choice on how you see the data.
It’s All About You…Golf Club Reviews (Choose the data you want & what you don’t want)
Wanna compare just head-to-heads for just the longest driver of all reviewed…it can do that for you. Want to be able to sort by whatever statistical category you want…it can do that too. Want to be able to sort by handicap level of the testers it will soon be able to do that as well. How about sorting the data by our testers swing speed to see which club would work for you best…that will all be a possibility with the new MyGolfSpy “Ultimate INTERACTIVE Golf Club Review System!”
So…when are you going to see this new review system? Well…you will get a taste of our “Alpha” version Monday of next week! And we will continue to add new parts to the system in the 3-4 reviews that follow the one we will be publishing on Monday December 13th. We want to allow you to get your feet wet first before adding all the other bells and whistles.
It All Begins On Monday
Beginning with this review on Monday, you’re actually going to have the option to interact with our review data in whatever way you feel is best for you. In the coming weeks and months we will be collecting even more data (some of the things you’ve specifically asked for in our polling) during our tests. As our data sets expand and we grow the systems capabilities, we’ll finalize our updated scoring system, and begin providing you the power to evaluate, manipluate and interact with even more data! So expect to see even more bells & whistles in the next series of reviews as we take the next steps towards creating the type of golf equipment reviews we’ve always envisioned since day 1 at MyGolfSpy. That being truly the “Ultimate Golf Club Review System!”
P.S. – make sure to check back on Monday when we will reveal our latest “Big Review” which will include a taste of the new “Ultimate INTERACTIVE Golf Club Review System”. Inside the review there will links at the bottom of each club listed to take you to the “interactive” portion of the review and will also include a quick tutorial on how to use the new system as well as how to interact with the data the best way you see fit. And remember the review you see on Monday will only scratch the surface of what the new system will be capable of in the future.
