Keegan Bradley Wears Jordan Golf Shoes at Augusta

Golf fans familiar with Jay-Z and Michael Jordan got a bit of a treat yesterday at The Masters, as Keegan Bradley walked 18 holes in a pair of golf cleats with the Jordan Jumpman logo at the heel, and the number “45” in big bright letters across the side panel.

In Jay-Z parlance, Keegan was “Back like Jordan, wearing the four-five.”

For the unfamiliar, Michael Jordan wore the number 45 for a brief time when he returned to the NBA in the 1994-95 season. As a fan of Jordan, Keegan requested the number 45 be added to the side panel of his shoe.

No Immediate Retail Plans

Taking a cursory glance at Keegan’s Instagram feed, you will see the same shoe in many different variations, all of which feature some sort of calling card to Michael Jordan or his signature shoe line.

For those hoping to get their hands on a pair of the shoes, you are going to have to wait. How long you ask? We aren’t sure. From what we know, Keegan Bradley has a footwear deal with Jordan Brand, but there are no plans for a retail release of the shoe in the near future.

Plans are so far out at this point, that there isn’t even a name for the shoe he wore yesterday. Keegan has called it the “Air Keegan” on his Instagram feed, but the Jordan Brand doesn’t actually have it cataloged.

Interestingly, since Keegan started wearing Jordan footwear, the brand has released a run of golf-inspired footwear; some inspired by the Michael Jordan signature line, others based on Jordan Brand training product.

Player Exclusive

Though the shoe has a very traditional look to the upper and last, the design is based on the Air Jordan XX9 Low and was cobbled together by famed Nike designer Mark Smith.

In basketball terms, Keegan’s 45s would be consider a PE (Player Exclusive). Footwear brands often create special make-ups of shoes for their professional athletes. Most never it make it to retail. Based on what we know so far, that will likely be the case with the  “45” Air Keegans.

Stay tuned and we’ll keep watch on what Keegan wears on the course today and hope whatever it is can help him move up the leaderboard at the tournament.

Jordan needs to start dropping all kinds of golf shoes. If they get into golf apparel that’s all I would wear

Josh Gooley id wear probably any Jordan if they made them into golf shoes. With MJ being such a good golfer he needs to get on that. Hopefully when he gets tired of putting out the same shoes and selling them for 200 bucks ha

They dropped a few Retro 6 golf shoes on Nike a couple months ago and immediately sold out. They have a couple pairs of Jordan golf shoes on Nike.com now

Do you wear a coat, tie and top hat on the course? No? What about plus-fours and a button down? No? Stickly slacks and a polo? No? Hmm… so you’re just against THIS apparel update? Got it.

I’m sure Bobby Jones would look at you on the golf course and tell you to stop dressing like a clown. It’s all relative.

Was a novel idea years ago when Keegan started wearing them

The idea has gotten old and played out for me now, no longer interested.

Such a niche market for golf amd unless bought by the few hardcore jordan fanboys they wouldent sell very well to the other 99% @ the price they charge for things that have a jumpman on them

I let the Bababooey thing slide, but this is too much. Keegan, I thought we had a future together, but it is impossible to root for an adult who dresses like its the first day of school in 7th grade.
