Nike VAPOR FLY TW Driver

Nike VAPOR FLY TW Driver

Fresh off the holiday weekend, it nearly went unnoticed that the USGA added a new version of Nike’s Vapor Fly driver to its conforming list. Specifically you’re looking at the Vapor Fly TW (Version 2).

If you find yourself immediately wondering how you missed Version 1, it’s likely because the initial revision never made it to the conforming list.

As is always the case with USGA photos, scale can be difficult to ascertain, but the bonded hosel, apparently smaller footprint, and of course, the inclusion of a TW logo make it pretty easy to draw inferences about what Nike was thinking with this one.

“Tiger Tiger Tiger Tiger Tiger Woods y’all. Hey, Tiger Woods y’all.”

In the past I would have told you that the odds were against this one every being available to the public, but given Nike’s recent propensity for all things Limited Edition, I wouldn’t complete rule out the possibility of some of these finding their way to Nike.com.

Is that something you’d like to see?

SOLE: (diamond pattern), (bent line), (Nike logo over diamond pattern), (bent line), (diamond pattern), (TW logo)
TOE: VAPOR, FLY, (Nike logo)
HOSEL: (square)

Great looking driver, but I find the Nike’s a bit too expensive for me.

^o^ Trash talk from guys that have never broken 70. A great driver starts with looks, right shaft, correct loft. Get over yourself.

The toned down color scheme is very tasteful. The only real issue I have with nike’s current lineup is that I have to put on sunglasses to look at it

Don’t knock the TW logo on golf clubs. It will be something you will see for the next 30 years, regardless of his preformance. Nearly every golf great has gone on to create their own signature clubs, and Tiger has been a part of designing equipment for 15+ years now.

Pretty gutsy releasing a TW driver for to the public when he might not be playing this year. But then Nike could always change the color and swap out the TW for DJ rather quickly.

Lets pretend Nike releases this club to the market.

I think they would be better served if they applied the adjustable hosel to this club head, with shaft options. There are golfers out there who clearly want the smaller cc/footprint but at $300-400 price point want options.

Bottom of drivers get dirty only when you “drop kick” on a regular basis.

The image in grayscale. It is photo blue/volt on the sole like the rest of the Vapor Fly line and will have a black crown with no Swoosh like the last model.
