The Next PIMP List Wedge will be inspired by YOU

From Star Wars To…

After seeing #ThePIMPList, UK club refinishing house, Golf Alchemy, sent us the now famous (on Twitter and Facebook anyway) Star Wars wedge.

The company must have seen some voluntary post Pimp List participation as an opportunity to show off their incredible laser engraving capabilities, not to mention their love of movies, and a bit of imagination too. They weren’t wrong.

As I just said (pay attention…don’t make me repeat myself), the Star Wars wedge was among the (if not the) most popular things we’ve ever posted to Facebook and Twitter. To say the response was overwhelming would be selling it short.

unnamed (4)

Who knew so many star Wars geeks are also golfers?

Almost immediately, the Golf Alchemy team followed up Star Wars with a Dirty Harry themed wedge; complete with 44 caliber shell casing inlay.

That’s Cool Right?

You really think that’s cool? Well it is., and it’s just one of many examples of a smaller company doing something to bring a little more fun to the game. Better still, the guys at Golf Alchemy want you to know that they’re just getting started.

So what comes next?

That’s up to you. We’re giving you the opportunity to choose the theme for the next golf alchemy wedge.

What would you like to see immortalized? Your favorite movie? A TV Show? Or perhaps something totally outside the box. Your imagination is the only limit.

Here are just a few examples of ideas that were kicked over to us:

  • The Hunger Games
  • A Clockwork Orange
  • Taxi
  • X-Men
  • Lord of the Rings
  • Mork and Mindy

As you can see, ideas run the gamut…and these really are just for inspiration.

Your Idea Brought to Life

What we’re looking for is a handful of awesome theme ideas. Put your awesome idea in the comments below…if you like somebody else’s (or one of the above) say so too. We’re going to take the best ideas from you and put them to a vote a little later on.

Once the winning idea is chosen, Golf Alchemy will create two wedges from that theme. One wedge will go to a lucky reader (chosen at random) while the other will be kept here at MyGolfSpy.

Just to be clear, somebody is going to win an awesome inspired-by-you wedge from Golf Alchemy.

Submit your idea (leave a comment) now.

A WALKING DEAD WEDGE!! The back of the wedge could have a silhouette of Rick pointing his gun with the quote “You Are Not Safe..” just below. The leading edge of the wedge could be “sharpened” like Michonne’s samurai sword. The top edge of the face could have “blood” dripping down the face about halfway. The rest of the face could be splattered with “blood”. The hosel could be shaped like a bullet case. The loft could be filled in a deep red color. On the toe-side of the face, a walker silhouette could be engraved with its arms extended and bits falling from them.

I would LOVE to have this wedge on display!!!

      Reply

I think this is a good idea, especially throw in the part about a old color scheme.
If they could make some sort of aluminum bronze wedge (ala the old timey Gary Player wedges), they could probably put some sort of gold colored finish on it.

Use something from the opening scenes of the movies (when the theme music plays), such as those circles shown in sequence that display Bond in silhouette, turning and firing his gun
Then use a quote from the movie, such as:
James Bond: Do you expect me to talk?
Auric Goldfinger: No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die!

The next theme should be Scarface with the quote “Say Hello To My Little Friend”

Damn it, hckymeyer beat me to it with the Transformers Optimus Prime wedge. that dirty harry wedge with the bullet primer is pretty friggin sweet. How about a Bugs Bunny wedge or the Gopher from Caddyshack ( to make it a lil more specific)?
