There has been an immense amount of anticipation on what the new Ping Golf line-up will look like and just as much about what the new gear will be named. Well today you might at least be getting a sneak-peek at what the new line-up could look like when they release it in the coming months.

I would say the irons look more like a rapture set than g series but who knows they might be womens clubs.
You never know with the driver it could be a driver for any of their lines.

I don’t know which design that is but I do know that they will have new G15 and I15 irons releasing next month. G15 woods are a definite and I15 woods are possible however testing for the I15 woods with tour pros has been disappointing with most pros preferring the G15 series.

wow i like the diver, but im going to guess this is the G15 line just because the irons have super wide soles just like the G10s I would love to see where they go with the prototypes.

Their drivers don’t change much over the years… good and bad, I think. Shaft options are getting better, but they need to STOP trying to use their own shafts. Whether they’re any good or not, you can’t do any research on a TFC shaft, or on a Z series shaft for irons.
Irons look more like a G series, I agree. Got to keep pace with Taylormade, now that they’ve designed the ultimate irons set.

Ping custom options are peculiar, they charge the same price for an Aldila NV as they do a UST Pro Force.

I believe they might release a G12 women’s line. Many companies seems to be doing more marketing to the women’s department. But considering the rapture line is only a year old, and the s57 were also recently released. I think they are due for and i15 line. Ping has never been much for conformity so movable weights and adjustable shafts are unlikely. Im looking for blue in the i15 line…just a guess!

I absolutely love my G10 hybrids, so no new purchases for me. The iron does look like a game-improvement one though, so maybe they have something else up their sleeves.
On another note about the G10 hybrids…Has anyone purchased both the 18 and 21 degree lofts and noticed that the 18 degree draws/hooks more than the 21 deg? 21 degree is my favorite club and I should like the 18 deg more, but having a little control issues. Feedback would be great.

I have both the 18 and 21 degree, stiff…..although mine are extended a 1/2 inch each. The 21 is easier to draw/hook, essentially it turns over easier. This is normal, you just feel it much more in these then you would in an iron. (think about how a lot of people have a nice draw with their short irons, but tend to almost fad their long irons or woods. More loft always helps you turn the ball over, its why nike and TM have the loft adjustable on their new drivers.

In my area they have what is called a demo day, the local driving range has every club manufacturer on the planet pitch a tent and allows you to spend a day hitting every wood and every iron under the sun. then i make my decision based on that. i went there 5 years ago. this is what i ended up with……Driver PingSi3 3w Titleist980F 5w Titleist980F Irons Ping i3’s i tried them all that day those were the ones that i like best based on the way i actually hit a golf ball. and when i ready to buy again i’ll do the same thing spend a day and hit every single club known to man then make my decision. buying a new set of clubs won’t make you play like tiger but it sure can’t hurt

Everyone says that Ping irons are manufactured in the U.S. But the only way for the Chinese to have an idea of the way the next generation will look like is for the masters and tooling to be executed in China. Which means that the heads are manufactured there also. So goes the fallacy that Pings are only cast in the U.S.

I recently purchased a set of G15 irons with graphite shafts on the internet. When they arrived in about 7 days, they were shipped from China. The set is 3-S with the ID #3B3858F on each club. I checked with Ping in AZ, they said they were not their numbers.They have black dot and TFC 149 regular flex graphite shafts. When comparing them to demo irons in a golf shop, I can’t see any differences. I have a set of ISIK I bought in 1998. The new clubs feel great . Does anyone know about these clubs.

Of the topic of these pics but Cabrera is testing a new set of Blades/ cavity back irons. It was 2,3,4,5 cavity and blades 6-9. .

Pardon me Fatleg, for my opinion, but Pings are “Ordinary Garbage Clubs for High Handicap Players”! I proved that to my Father in the late 70’s when I played a round with him on The Rancho Bernardo Private Course, using blades only; his new set of Pings for the front nine and my set of Wilson Staff FG-17’s for the back nine. My score on the back nine was 11 shots less than my score on the front nine! “Strongback Tour Blades” permit a player to go lower if they know how to hit the ball in the proper manner and on a consistent basis!! Tell me I am wrong and maybe we play for $ sometime!!

The problem with your statement is that you played a round with two different sets of clubs…First off…if you don’t like Ping, your mindset immediately changes which is worth 3 strokes alone…Then to “prove” to your father, how the heck do we know you even know how to play the game or swing properly anyway. Lastly, Pings are made/built/setup for each player…so if you were playing with someone else’s set – they may not have been right for you. Learn a little bit more about the technology and the fact the company itself before you go passing an unfounded judgement. Now, if you would have said I just don’t like them b/c they don’t fit my style/eye/etc…then I think you would get more respect.

This is the most ridiculous comment I have ever seen from someone who says they are a golfer. You play with whatever suits you. I am off scratch and average 34 putts a round so my striking is obviously pretty good, shame I can’t putt. I use cavity backs because i can hit every shot in the book with them, when I use blades i hit nose pickers and even punch shots keep rising and that is any set of blades I have tried. Now read all the blurb on blades are players clubs that can work the ball etc. You buy clubs that suit you end of story.
And for arguements sake i’d argue blades actually suit players who’s ball striking is consistantly average at best, all the good ball strikers I know will not use blades as they have the fear of puring one and flying it 10/20 yards further than they were expecting.

Im curious on if we will actually be loosing something with the new groves on the next generation??? I know the current i10’s grooves wont be playable on tour next year…..but really, that rule wont affect me……..do i ditch my x-series for the i10’s or wait for the next generation???

If you’re not planning to play in any USGA events, and you’re not ready for the TOUR, then stick with what you’ve got. If you’re planning to buy right now, you should also consider a cleveland set. They have grooves that will no longer be conforming, but they also have a deal right now, that if you buy them before the new year is out… you can send them in in either 2010 or 2011 and replace them for a newer model set… FOR FREE!

Well the copy pic that you have been able to show does give an excellent look into the future of PINGs new irons. The look at the new I15 driver i saw looks good too. Not enough angles to make a complete judgement on design but does look good. Sole looks maybe a little like Titleist or either Nike sole plate.
With the pic i saw being I15 maybe that means there is a G15 also. So maybe there are 2 drivers G and I. Maybe a few more hints into the complete line. Thanks again MYGOLFSPY.

I’d hold off on making your purchase based on the groove rule changes. The very strong rumbling is that the tour is no longer going to adopt the rule, they will stay with current groove specs for the time being. Add that to the fact that the vast majority of amateurs HATE the new groove rule, and I’m willing to bet that manufacturers won’t be making only clubs that conform to the new rule in 2010. There is no reason for manufacturers to conform every club they sell in the coming year when the tour players won’t have to, and the amateurs don’t want to.

Hey if you get golf digest they have a picture of the new i15 driver. They show it as a non adjustable driver and it is a red gray color.

I used to always be addicted to nike irons, drivers, balls, the lot. But when the ping i10 stuff came along I completely switched. Now the i15 are out, I am going to get fitted because they are sooooooo coooll!!!!!

Go back to the Ping Eyes for the irons…I still have my set and so often think of going back to them. I wonder if Ping will go to the adjustable clubs, a la Nike and TM. The design of this does look like a Nickent (someone mentioned earlier).
I wonder what it sounds like when it’s hit solid too…

if ping has done anything with their recent design history it’s to have left a trail of predictability. their drivers are consistently great and revamped to critical acclaim every two- three years( g2, g5,rapture, g10, rapture v2….. with a set of game improvement irons following suit i3os, g2, g5, g10. shortly after they release a set of player’s looking game improvement irons (appealing to the mid to low hc golfer that wants to look better than he is but not forgo the forgiveness of cb irons( i5, i10……. then, a set of ultra super game improvement shovels rapture, rapture v2…….same again with their blade style irons( s59, s58,s57……..why would anybody think they’d do anything different at this point? they have a proven recipe that has kept them in good graces with tour players and weekend hacks alike, holds them a huge market share, keeps them on the hotlist yearly, and are really competitively priced (for the technology and performance). for crap’s sake guys! this is the ONE company that has had the most impact on enjoying and growing the game of golf over the last 3 decades!!!!!

Good blog, I’m in the market for a new driver. G2 was my last new one with an X-stiff proforce, but the G15 has caught my eye. Looks really nice, and a fancy it with either the Voodoo X, or the Diamana. How much are you guys paying in the US ?
As most other people have had a pop at Ping in the Blog, I thought I’ll add my thoughts. It’s all down to personal choice, one mans wine is another mans water.
I love to try all the new clubs, done the TM’s, Callaway, Titleist, Hogen & Mizuno but the clubs in my garage I won’t let go are all Ping,Eye 2’s, I3, I5 and now onto G10’s. But whatever the best next I’ll give them a go…
For the guy who improved by 11 shots over 9 holes, wow well done. You must have been bad the first 9. But blades aren’t for everyone, and you need to be very good. PS I’ve played off SCR for 25 years now, I’m only 39 years old. But blades fab for feel, Cav backs help more people. We aren’t all as good as you

I have tested the Ping G15 and in my opinion the driver is a 3.75 out of 5. Distance was ok forgiveness was good but overall did not live up to the hype for me Bossboy.

The molds are usually stolen from the factory and then given to the clone manufactuers Duffer. The thiefs stand to make more then a few years salary from taking a mold.

Have the G and i 15 ranges instore now… i15 driver looks awesome and is solid, G15 is ok with the Aldila shaft, the TFC is still too soft!!! Irons? Same old same old… G15 hybrid? Looks wierd, performs amazingly well, I was quite impressed… Ping are the masters of evolution, but then again, why change something thats worked since the G2???

I am a pro in the UK and my pro shop is one of the first in the Uk to stock the G15 and I15 series. Having hit the clubs I was really impressed the I15 driver is excellent and the UST Avicore shafts in the I15 woods are great quality.
I was also impressed with both of the new hybrids and am currently toying between the two. Would definately recommend to anyone.

I’m a 9 and I just got fitted for a new Ping driver by Ping Reps on an outdoor range with a Ping launch monitor. Both new drivers look great and before swinging them I was leaning towards the G15 since I’m playing the G5 now. After trying many different options of shafts, lofts, etc, the I15 ended up performing better for my swing even though I liked the looks of the G15 better. The I15 is super solid and you really feel like you’re hammering the ball. Even slightly miss hit shots stayed very straight. It’s a lower launching driver, so where I was playing a 9* in the G5, I’m now playing an 11* in the I15 with the same ball flight. For me, the Ping TFC shaft felt and performed the best as well even though I went into the process thinking I wanted an upgraded shaft. Bottom line, get fitted instead of just listening to what everyone else has to say about the gear. Everyone is different and every swing is different. If you buy something off the shelf because of how it looks or what someone says about it, you’ll never know if it was exactly right for you and you’ll probably just be wasting your time and money.

Picked up the G15 3-PW. SW the day they came out.. it was time for an upgrade from my Eye2+.
Very easy to hit, the wide soles take some getting used to but I’m loving them more and more every round.

t is hard to believe that Ping could come up with something to better the rightly popular Ping G10 driver but they have come up trumps with the new G15 – a truly worthy successor. I have been lucky enough to already get to try out the new Ping clubs and I have not been disappointed. A big fan of the G10 I was dubious if I would feel the need to upgrade to this newer version but everything from looks to performance has convinced me that a good club has got even better. The club sits behind the ball very well and is visually confidence building – the half crescent alignment system has been slightly modified in the G15 to look slightly more modern and fit in with then new red colour scheme – giving a solid look to address.

I just had the opportunity to demo a number of drivers the other day at my local golfsmith.
The Ping G15 yielded me the best numbers of the half dozen or so OEM’s that I hit.
Now will that make me buy it ? Can’t say at the moment, but I am considereing a new driver this season and will pony up the money for a real fitting at a local range that is state of the art.
You can be sure that this driver will receive strong consideration if its trackman / real world hitting match up to my inital impression.

Demo’d the drivers/woods recently and ended choosing the G15 10.5 and 4 wood both with Serrano. I’m back to hitting the high fade as I did when I was a lower hcp which I’m loving. The I15 seemed a bit inconsistant by going left with the UST shaft. Both are hot off the face and the Serrano shaft works. Stayed away from the new irons as I am using the Raptures and the’yre not broke.

Demo’d a bunch of drivers last week in a simulator – I only paid attention to one read out, distance. The new Ping G15 was consistently the longest for me.
I still want to see how it performs real world and hope that I might have a chance to try this out at a local driving range.
I am in the market for a new driver this spring and will strongly consider this one.

The G15 is definitely one of the longest drivers out this year for sure.
