Hi John - thanks for making your 1st comment on MGS...we hope you continue to come on and join the conversation.

In regards to the irons...the X-22 would be forgiving. I think you might want to consider a Mizuno iron as well. I think you would be very happy with them.

I need to buy a new iron set. My current set is callaway x18. They were to heavy and hard to handle. I've tried a new iron which is the s57 by PING and the x22 Tour by Callaway. I need to know which one is the better, light and more forgiving?

Hey Sandman - thanks for stopping by and making your 1st comment...we hope to see you back on a regular basis. And I agree this is a great set of sticks. We tried one of the first sets out and still think they are great over a year later. Talk again soon Sandman ;)

OK. About 6 years ago I got rid of my Mizuno TZoid Pro Forged Clubs because I was convinced that I "was over the hill as far as blades were concerned". Went through 3 sets of Adams then last Sept bought the Cleveland CG Gold Irons. Wound up with a Taylor Made 3 Iron hybrid, and a Adams 4 and 5 Iron hybrid. No matte what, my scores just kept going up. Finally got so disgusted I dumped the whole bag and went to my local Roger Dunn store "where I live its like going to Cheers" looked over all the blades and left with a set of Ping S57's off the shelf. I am 61 years old, 6'3" and bought black dots. Played a quick 9 here at Avila Beach and shot 5 over!!!!Thats the best 9 in over 7 years. These clubs are awesome. I felt completely confident after hitting the second iron shot. The wedge is a diamond. How I got away from a small top line and muscle back club is beyond me. Was hitting an 8 where before I was hitting a 6. Guess the peer pressure got to me. What a dope I was. I don't care how much hype is generated about cavity back, perimeter weighted, etc. etc. Hybrid and all. Come back to source. I did and wow, am I happy I did. God bless Ping and the funny part is back in 1992 I was playing with pings and playing well. Learned my lesson. I back with Ping blades to stay and the hell with peer pressure.

Todd,

I would have to agree I think they are nice sticks...but still like the Mizuno's a little better.

Got to hit the s57 as well as mx 62s,mp57,mx52. Currently play with s58. The new s 57 is so much better than the s58 and same soft feel as mizuno,Heads and tails above the s58.
