Is This Jay Z’s New Iron?

Is This Jay Z’s New Iron?

Here’s a little something we’ll most definitely be checking out at the annual PGA Show next month. PGE (Professional Golf Europe), the guys behind Vega, United, and Radius Golf have partnered up with automobile manufacturer Bentley to develop a set of what certainly looks like high-end blades.

bentley-iron

This isn’t the first time an auto manufacturer has put its name into the golf market. You may recall that Cobra PUMA partnered with Ferrari a few years ago, and a year or two before that there was a Mercedes AMG branded iron on display at the show.

We loved the looks of that one, but it never went anywhere…total waste of a show booth…and our time.

Anyway, we’ll be checking in with the guys at PGE and we’ll be sure to let you know what we find out.

I bought a pair of the Williams F1 GP90 forged wedges for 70% off they were like $200 each originally. At first i’d though it was all gimmick and branding but they actually feel and perform great! Williams F1 used a material callee Desnimet which provides the same dampening effect as tungsten but feels more solid. Anyways I wont knock these until Ive tried them. I also own Vega iron and hybrid (bought used at much lower prices) and they are solid performers.

\Just as their cars don’t break down they just fail to proceed. Their irons will not top shank or slice they will just fail to go straight.

All show, no go. Just stamping the Bentley logo on it probably made them cost 10 times more, but if people buy it more power to them.

Looks purdy. It could be a true Bentley……beautiful to look at, underwhelming reliability. TGE makes some very beautiful irons, and they could perform very well, but i don;t see them sending MGS a set to test.

From the looks of this blade, they will probably need some extreme redistribution of weight on the club head in order for it to be some what playable. I think the weight distribution is too bias towards to heel, and you need to near shank the ball every time in order to find the sweet spot. That’s assuming there’s no hidden tungsten weight in the club head to push the sweet spot further from the heel.

Its a beautiful club, just not sure if it’s very playable.
