Are you a Wilson Golf fan?
We know Wilson Staff is working on some exciting things in the iron category. Late last year Wilson’s Director of R&D, Mike Vrska had this to say about the prototype iron his team was working on:
Fast-forward 9 or so months later and one of our spies snapped this picture of what we believe are Wilson Staff’s next generation FG Tour (V5?) and C-Series (C200 to be specific) irons (alongside the current FG Tour 100 blade.
As we reported in Our Series of Wilson Golf Articles last year, while the company isn’t the powerhouse it once was, it’s moving in the right direction.
Does one of the irons pictured feature the sort of break-through technology that Mike Vrska hinted at? We’ll know soon enough.

Have your perceptions of Wilson Staff over the last few seasons? Are you more likely to consider Wilson irons than you have in the past? Would a significant tech break-through change your opinion?

I think WIlson are in for a super year. I have gone from the Bridgestone J40 dpc’s to the new Wilson C200 irons. I live in Australia and they have been released here.
Admittedly these will never feel like the J40’s, but then again not many irons ever will. I from my brief session with these the feel i would describe as crisp. when you hit these out of the centre you definitely feel the ball spring off the face.
Since getting married I have not been able to play much golf and was struggling a little with the J40’s. The C200 seem like they are a lot more forgiving in a package that is still relatively attractive to the eye.
I got a good price for these in Aus and they threw in the new F5 hybrid for free.
