Although it doesn’t really fit the scope of the contest, someone needs to make a laser “rangefinder” for the green. Not for distance, but for topography. Laser + beam spitter to scan + sensor to read = instant topo map. Probably not tournament legal, but they have the green maps already. Probably an impossible product, but I want one…

I am big into the 8802 designs and similar models, currently game a bettinardi SS6. Though the 8802 has gone through many versions there are still some changeable to be made. Starting with a centered sweet spot. Second with one piece milling being all the rage why hasn’t a one piece putter been made, I want a head that is part one with the shaft, no opoxy holding it on dulling the feel. Same could be with the grip, I don’t want a grip, I want the shaft to taper out into the shape of a grip, what you are left with is the ultimate in feel and feedback. A single piece putter without opoxy or grip numbing the feel.

How about a decal or badge on the putter using Lenticular printing ( an image which changes depending on the angle you look at it) so that you can get the lie angle right or even one that has a message or image to make you focus on the back of the ball or it has an alignment aid which changes when you look from the top or the back of the putter.

This may be off the mark but I’ll throw it out there anyway. I think next big thing for this company would be to change its name. While SuperStroke has brand equity in its grips, it seems a less than prestigeous mark for a high caliber designer like Sizemore. While I understand that the Bruce Sizemore name is probably owned (for putters) by Bruce’s previous company, I think a more Sizemore centric moniker would lend more credibility and cache to Bruce’s designs.
Let’s consider the definition of a brand: A set of promises and management of experiences that engage the consumer and create a set of expectations for the consumer so a premium price will be paid for your product or service.
When I hear Super Stroke, I’m inclined to think of either Superman or large grips, not highly specialized putter design. The putters produced aren’t a super stroke, but rather deliver a “superior” stroke.
If thought of in terms of a Sizemore designed putter being like a fine musical instrument, hand tooled, artistic, of high quality and capable of producing an exquisite result in the hands of a creative musician. One would not think of, or describe, such an instrument as super, but probably more in line with being “peerless”, of a distinct grade, select and distinctive.
So that’s it folks, my idea for the new line of Sizemore’s.

You could have variable face thickness like they have on drivers to expand the sweet spot. So a wider mass in the center of the cavity and thinner mass on the outer parts of the cavity. Then with the weight you took off the face you could redistribute it to the rear and perimeter. You could also have a deeper face milling patteren for improved feel.

you could have different face thickness, like they do in drivers now days. having a thicker cavity in the center and thinner cavity around it could really improve the forgiveness. you would then be able to move the weight to the perimeter of the putter making it more stable at impact. you could also have a deeper dimond milling patteren to improve the feel. not saying your putters feel bad though.

I believe that the most impressive thing you could do is to make the putter into a set of components that are easily put together before a roung of golf. this could be the shaft, grip head shape and many other aspects that could be screwed together in order to create multiple differect putters. this would allow those who own multiple putters the ability to interchange components without switching putters. therefor a company doesnt have to make different putters but just the compontents to make them. can you imagine the possibilities of this. Endless!!!

      1. Shafts offered in multiple colors (especially black and pink – for the ladies!).
      2. Custom medallions that fit into the top of the grip. Custom options could include swing thoughts that golfers could look at while getting ready to make a putt… or whatever else they’d like to see there. If removable magnetic – could also use as a ball marker.

      1. I would love custom hosels on different putter heads. I’m really looking for a face-balaced blade that’s not center shafted. Like the Ping Anser X but at better quality head.
      2. Also offer black and/or anti-glare putter shafts.
      3. I really like the shape of your putter grips but I would prefer if they’re offered in solid colors.

Nano-particles that allow the putter to change shape during the stroke to better align the face at impact, so the ball starts on line and never misses — Basically the second best idea ever. I’m saving my best idea for the next idea contest. Stay tuned!

It would be nice to have a truly adjustable putter that doesn’t look like a UFO. Being able to adjust the lie angle and shaft position (face balanced vs heel or toe biased) would be a real revolution in putters. I want all this in a nice milled blade design without all the Wal Mart graphics. I know there are a few putter that are sort of adjustable, but I haven’t seen any that allow you to change multiple aspects. These features would make the putter truly customizable.
Did I mention it should be in nice, no frills, blade or half mallet design?

And with the adjustable putter length you would have to have custom weights in the sole like Scotty Cameron has and upon order you recieve 2 sets of weights. One for standard length and one set for when you “go long”. That could be the motto. Sizemore…Bringing adjustability to putters……..”GO LONG”! This would be bad ass!

Adjustable length. You can use the shaft medallions that are available as standard shaft labels and those would be the screw that turns it from 32″-52″. Regular putter to Long in seconds. And a hex screw at the hosel to adjust lie angle. Because I’m sure lie angle would need to be adjusted when goin that long. I’d def love to have something like that!! Only problem is grip?!

Based upon Bruce’s design, the one thing that jumps out at me would be the ability to swap out the “insert” on the flange of the putter. This would work for both cosmetic reasons (swapping colors, textures, metals, & etc. based upon personal preference) and also performance reasons (addition or subtraction of alignment lines and dots).

Although a good fitter can help someone figure out the effects of line/no-line on the putting stroke, a good fitter is not always available to the average golfer. Plus, I think that in this era of club adjustability, the average golfer feels comfort in knowing that a club can be altered if they need it to be altered. This would allow the tinkering golfer to tinker and the aesthetic golfer to color coordinate. I know that I would add a damascus or a copper insert “just because”. Different materials and metals would also allow for changes in headweight w/o having to take the putter to a machine shop.

The photo of the DCF-3 above leads me to believe that only a small hex wrench would be needed for the swaps. Include a dropdown option of insert specs on the custom build site along with the option to include additional inserts in the purchase and you are good to go.

Companies already make putters with attachable divot repair tools, attachable ball markers, wild graphics, a variety of alignment aids and gripping options. The one object which has remained relatively constant for putters are those small putter head covers that invariably end up either completely lost, or in the lost and found bin in the pro shop.

My idea for Sizemore is this: Design a putter head cover with a sleek/classy looking but thin leather (or nylon) strap coming off it-perhaps between 8-14 inches which can easily be clipped to an available ring/loop on one’s golf bag. First of all-golfers are more likely to replace the putter cover after each use instead of fishing around in the cart basket for it. The predominant culprit of putter nicks is the bouncy cart ride and this little system will protect it.

SuperStroke..How about an inflatable putter grip? You could have an inflatable underlisting that could be inflated to the golfer’s desired grip size. A pressure reading could determine regular, mid-sized or oversized grip. It would also give the golfer a CUSTOM inflation option. There is already a hole at the end of the grip and this is where an inflation needle could be inserted. Obviously, you’d have to check your pressure occasionally, just like you do your tires. Remember me if you go with this idea :)

why not and adjustable shaft so that we can hop on the belly putter bandwagon when our friends aren’t looking and try it out. simple hex screw with the extension inside, can slide it out to what ever lenghth is workin that day and away we go…..34′ up to as much as almost doulbe would work. extra long grip or whatever or even split to have an upper and lower when at lenghth….

What is really missing is a “custom fit” tool for belly putters. Because golfers come in different shapes and sizes, an easy to use “fitting system” for belly putters to include, length, weight, loft, and lie is desperately needed. It seems like you would need measurements of the golfer from sternum to ground, from hands to ground, and waist size. These measurements should create a triangle that can be translated into an appropriate length of a belly putter. Additionally, the “size” of the golfer (small, average, large, very large) should influence the “weight” of the belly putter, the head needs to be heavier to deal with the length and the stature of the golfer. Finally, traditional loft and lie fitting systems need to be combined.
