Survey: What Do You Look For In A Golf Ball?

It’s not optional. Regardless of what those Foot and Frisbee guys tell you, you absolutely can’t play golf without it.

It’s the golf ball, and it’s having a very interesting year.

Here are just a few of the highlights:

Along the way there’s been plenty of talk about what’s important in golf ball design. The ball manufacturers are telling you what you need in a golf ball, and while most of what they’re telling us has merit, ultimately it’s your money, and so you get to decide what really matters.

Is it cost? Performance? Feel? Is it really as simple as brand recognition?

Please take our brief survey to help us better understand what you buy and why you buy it (or don’t buy it). As we always do, we’ll share our results with you in the coming weeks.

Ive tried Wilson Staff and theyre good especially for price point. Callaways Hex Chrome+ and these are my favorites! Next I am gona give Bridgestones E6 a shot since they were recommended and claims that they are better.

      Dawson, +1
I currently have more than 130 Srixon distance and Bridgestone 330.
When I run out, I will try Snell. There should be a few lost and found Snells around by then.

Why does surveymonkey want my age. income and education history in a golf ball survey?
Is that so they can sell my information?

      A couple things.

First! Snell didn’t put thought into Canadian customers before launching. They’re playing catch up now but the damage is done. Forum sites with conversations about Canadian customers getting balls via ups to canada which in Canada is well known as horrendously bad at adding humongous fees (not duties… Fees) that make the pricing ridiculously high.
Would I pay more for a Snell than a prov1?
      Hell no!
Even with usps they added they really need distribution setup here in the highest per capita golf participation country in the world.

      Next….

Your survey asked this :* 11. Please rank these golf ball characteristics in order of importance to you.

Is #1 the most important? Is it the higher number means the highest importance?
I don’t know survey didn’t give directions so I quit

I’ve started using the Mizuno MP-S ball, I bought a dozen to do a review on the MGS forum as well as JPX balls and as I have worked my way through the box I have really taken a liking to them. They are cheaper than Pro V1 X’s here in Aus and perform a little better so I think I’m on a winner. The JPX’s aren’t bad either. Very high launch and traj if that is what you want, check out the review in the Members review section on the forum,

I used to be pretty committed to playing Titleist ProV1. However, the past year I experimented while playing on the course with about a dozen different balls. At least for me, I discovered the best ball for me to play is a toss up between the Srixon Q star and Z star. They both performed much better for me than the Titleist I was playing. I would suggest other folks do the same and find out what ball ‘really’ fits them.

I have found no better ball than the Chrome Soft right now. Snell is on the radar, but I’m so happy with the Soft I probably wont change. Although the ball is one piece of equipment we can change often, so I’m always on the lookout.

A few years ago I happened upon the Bridgestone B330RX and in terms of performance, ball characteristics, and price point I think this is the best ball for me. I’ve tried other more expensive balls and, to be honest, they were great performers but the price point wasn’t there. They performed well but the cost didn’t justify the purchase.

Just got my eBay package this morning: 88 near mint b330s for 80 dollars Canadian. I’m thankful people are still willing to buy new balls for 4 dollars each and hit them in the woods so I can buy them for 80 cents each.

I just ordered 2 dozen Snell My Tour Balls. This is sounds too good to be true but I’m eager to give them a try. I want a ball that performs without the extreme price. $47-48 a dozen for ProV1’s is ridiculous.
