Would like some input on two sets of irons. Have a deal on Ping Black dot or a deal on TM MC irons. Anyone know the pro’s and con’s of these two sets? I liked the feel of both.

Wore out my AP2s in 3 years and have decided on the MC and CB’s ….making the switch to MC 5-9 and CB 3-4. These are really easy to hit well.

my local golf store had complete sets of TM MB’s and Nike VR TW’s; each iron face, 3-pw, seemed to be a duplicate with the TM head about 10% smaller; personally, i prefer the more square head of my Callaway TA X-prototypes to the MB’s or the TW’s; the first picture I saw of the MB’s reminded me of the backside design of my TA’s with the weight port of my Ping i3’s

Play off 4. hit the 6irons of both these today, they were beautiful, but I did prefer the blades which were surprisingly forgiving and with a very smalll dispersion, very tempted but will be around £800 at my club. Hmm, maybe not.

Glad to see TM getting back to clubs that are true players irons, the previous lot was the biggest junk and I believe caused a lot of their players to underperform. Ball controll on oversize heads are a big problem, new their players are starting to perform again.

The TM MB’s and CB’s are by far the easiest irons I have ever tested…attended a TM Demo-Day and they both swing very balanced. Prefer the CB’s due to the eye appeal standing over them, but the MB’s are equally as nice. Know a die-hard Ping iron’s user, and even they are changing over to the new TM’s after having tested both, and even Pings G15’s

they werent able to improve upon r7 tp’s and this just looks like another epic fail…
ugliest crap i have ever looked at.
people rip ping and titleist for not being innovative enough and sticking with club lines too long, if the alternative is taylor made changing everything completely every 6 months then i’d take my chances with ping or titleist.
how long until the iron heads are white…lol

i feel as though some of you are being paid by other manufacturers to bad mouth these irons. they look amazing and they have an adjustable weight which makes it so much easier to find the right feel. i have been waiting years for a set of irons like these. i guarantee with the right weight in the head, these will feel better and perform better than any iron in your bag right now. stop hating and accept this as the future of golf. more manufacturers will follow this trend in the coming years.

Are you kidding me! if you cant hit muscle backs all the way down to the 3 Iron then you dont deserve to hit any ot them… No combo sets should ever be made, either improve your game or use the clubs that suit your higher handicap play

You better tell Stewart Cink he doesn’t deserve to hit his then. I would say that he could hit his all the way down to 3 iron but chooses not to and I am pretty sure he made more money than you last year. There is no need to judge people off of their decision to play certain clubs. Some people say that hybrids are cheating but I am sure you are not one of those guys.

I have the older RAC TP Musclebacks in my bag and they are one of the sweetest blades ever made. I think adding some gimmicky adjustable weight is stupid. Even though I also have an old 420cc R7 driver in my bag, too, I’ve never adjusted the weights on it from neutral, either. It’s the archer, people . . . not the arrow.

      Ranking;

#1 The TM forged irons, for innovation, and risk taking.
#2 Ping’s K15 line for building on a proven sales winner
      #3 The Wilson’s, for nostalgia

So I have to give them credit for going back to forged clubs. I bought a set of TP this year, played them two or three times and sent them packing to ebay. The feel just isn’t there for me with cast irons. I have a set of Mizy’s and their forgings are unequaled.

What does the MC stand for More Cavity?

I dont know what half of you are talking about, these irons are SEXY. You can tell the CB’s will perform well by looking at them! That sweet spot is gonna be amazing! And if they give those irons a black finish: forget about it!

The CB’s & the MC’s look like the Taylormade firesole irons. The MB’s look half way decent. Still the best looking TM irons in my opinion were the 2004 cb’s.

Like the looks of the MCs from TM and yes, the weight adjustment feature will help sell these. ANY time you change the shaft, grip or length, swingweight is affected, and how many players use factory standard specs.?

Wow the caddy side of these sticks are ugly! I’d rather have lead tape all over my club head. But heck, if they work I would play them. Funny how they always show you the caddy side of the club and not the player’s side… really not a fan of any kind of screw or adjustment hardware on a golf club.

      Adjustability!

That people is the new iron of the future and TM is starting the trend with swingweight user adjustability. Next up, face plate replacement for irons.

Next, after that will be lie, loft adjustment. I can envision a one head fits all!
Ping’s color code fitting is no longer needed.

      Huge for TM…

These do not have xFT technology and the weight cartridge is not interchangeable. Can only be changed at the factory. The purpose is to change the swing weight without moving the sweet spot on the face (usually done with weight cartridges in the hosel which moves the sweet spot). These clubs are going to be money my friends. The blades are damn sexy.

Ouch! I’m not too sure about having an adjustable weight on my blades. I thought the reason to play a blade was to have a well balanced, neutral club so it’s easier for me to hit different shots.

not weight movement. This is the new design that allows you to remove a screw and replace the groves. Just like the new wedges. Last set you’ll ever need.

not true. the grooves are not replaceable. It is a weight used to tune each clubs swing weight.

those look horrible, it will be interesting how theyll perform with the xFt technology though. Well i guess its xft, if not SFAC (Super Face Angle Control) which lets you hit 300000 different shots like draw fade combo LOL
