How To Stop Missing 3-10 ft. Putts! … {PGA Pro & MyGolfSpy Approved}

It’s Simple But Effective…The Thing Just Works!

It always amazes me how the best and most effective training aids we use in golf are almost always the simplest ones. Although golfers are bombarded with complex inventions through infomercials and huge advertising campaigns promising incredible enhancements and benefits to their games. These devices would amaze even the best of engineers…however they often do nothing to lower your score.
And although we know the simple devices are some of the most effective we are still surprised and somewhat shocked when we find one that does exactly what it says and doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.
That is exactly what happened when we ran into the owner of TheBigPutt and got his product
to sample and review for the MyGolfSpy readers. Initially the other 3 guys here at MyGolfSpy at the time tested them and said they were pleasantly surprised and quite impressed. I have to be honest though I was the only one of the MyGolfSpy staff not to try them out at first. Why? Well it just looked too simple! I thought what the hell is that going to do for my game. But after a couple months I had some time and wanted to unload some of the mounds of training aids and devices that are sent in to MyGolfSpy for review.
9 out of 10 Golfers Would Put In Their Golf Bag
So I took the TheBigPutt out for a test drive this past weekend. And I walked off the green saying to myself “I can 100% recommend this thing to my readers”. I was so impressed that I decided to give 20 other golfers at the course the chance as well…just to make sure TheBigPutt wasn’t a fluke. The results were shocking…90% of them said they would use the product and would “officially” put it in their bag.
I mean I saw the Fred Couples, Paul Azinger and the Jim Furyk ads on TheBigPutt website when they became a sponsor on MGS…but sometimes you have to be weary of marketing…actually you always do. We always tell you guys “Don’t believe the hype” on here and that is why we always test a product before we will recommend it to our readers. Too many products have guaranteed results that they never delivered. But I must say I can recommend TheBigPutt as a useful training tool for putting. The big ball really works.

Fred Couples said, “The Perfect Practice Tool”
Fred Couples called it “The perfect practice tool”. Well there are lots of training aids for putting and I don’t know if this is the perfect one…but I can say it is a good one. It just makes sense, in basketball they make you shoot with oversize balls…in baseball you train hitting with smaller balls and skinnier barrel bats. And both are proven tools in both sports…so…the logic behind TheBigPutt is the exact same just for a different sport. Practice with a bigger ball…and then when you go back to a regulation size ball the hole will seem smaller…simple as that.
What Other PGA Pros Are Saying About TheBigPutt:
- Mark Calcavecchia – “The Big Putt feels great, and helps me see the line better.”
- Curtis Strange – “I like the theory of TheBigPutt.”
- Fred Couples – “TheBigPutt is the perfect tool to practice those 3 to 10 footers that are key to lowering your scores.”
- Paul Azinger – “Any age group or any level golfer can use TheBigPutt and benefit from it.”
- Tom Lehman – “The Big Putt makes practicing putting fun.

Good article I’ve seen these before and the inventors are from near my house in nc, this idea actually came out due to a basketball game when the inventors used a smaller than regulation basketball and realized they where making more shots. I’ve thought about buying one but wondered if the weight difference would hurt my putting

Spanky the weight of this ball is relative to your regulation size ball. You can make the same stroke from 10 feet and both balls will roll the same distance. If anything this ball has improved my speed. You should try them.

I got The Big Putt as a gift back in March. Since then I use the Big Putt about once a week in my practice.. and I REALLY like this training aid. You do have to focus more on aim since there is less margin for error. So when you go back to using your regular ball it transfers over (greater focus on aim and more putts made!!)
I would recommend it for anyone that wants to get better at short putts.

This is a very interesting tool. I think I am going to have to try it. It reminds me of my basketball days when we would practice with the oversize balls with the same weight. If that can help my bball this should definetly help my golf. I will let you know on drcallawaygolf.com or http://www.thespecific.com thanks for the blog
