(THE PUTTER QUIZ!) – $250 CASH TO THE WINNER

Today’s contest is going to be lots of FUN…and worth lots of money and prizes.  That is because if anyone can get all the questions in the “Putter Quiz” right I will give them $250 cash out of my own pocket! (SERIOUSLY!) So you think you are a real putter wiz?  Let’s see what you got. You might just walk away with a different outlook on putter designs after this one.

And don’t worry there will be other prizes as well.  So before you start the quiz make sure to check out all the prizes and how you can win one of them…you don’t want to miss out on winning one.

Where I Got The Idea For This Quiz

I got the idea for this quiz after reading through a forum dedicated to putters and putter designers.  Yes their is a forum dedicated just to flatsticks and it is packed with all kinds of great info and photos…so if this is something that interests you then go check out (PutterTalk.com).  Anyway I have studied putters for years and years and it has always amazed me how one designer can make the exact same putter as someone else and become famous for that same design. And vice versa…someone else can do the same exact design and no one has ever heard of him?? Puzzling.  I understand that every putter designer has made it almost his duty to copy the famous designs of the past but still…this makes no sense to me.

And if you don’t think this happens…then take a look at the quiz below and you will quickly see that there is no rhyme or reason why some of these designs sell like hot cakes and why some become paper weights.  I am referring to copy-cat putter designs…and for today’s contest I am referring to arguably the most famous copied design…the Ping Anser.  Ok…yes some of these guys put their own twist on it (barely)…but it still makes no sense why someone will see a picture of one of these putters compared to another one just like it on a forum like (PutterTalk.com) and say something like the following…and yes this is an actual quote,

“MAN THAT PUTTER IS AMAZING, LOOK AT THE CLEAN LINES AND AMAZING FINISH ON THIS PUTTER, HE HAS AN INSTANT CLASSIC ON HIS HANDS!”  (ummm ok…but it’s the same design)

Now don’t get me wrong many of these designers are extremely talented at what they do…some are actually the most amazing craftsmen I know in the business.  I am not putting down any of these putter designers skills or talents.  The purpose of this quiz is to really aimed at the consumer.  You will see what I mean when you start the quiz and there is almost no way to differentiate one design from another.  Once we blurred out the names it is next to impossible unless you recognize this photo from a forum.

THE PUTTER QUIZ

The putter quiz is simple.  We have 15 images of putters that are all similar in design from different putter designers.  All you have to do is name as many as you can correctly in the comments section on this article.  And like I said if anyone can get all of them correct on their first attempt they will win $250 Cash from me!
