I went to the JDC tournament this weekend and saw quite a few of the pros were playing the D2 (909). The biggest being Zach Johnson. I didnt see anyone playing the D3 model but i’m sure there was a few. It looks great. Its not shaped as the sketches above show. Its actually a good looking club. The headcover needs to be improved before it hits the shelves but I’ll for sure be picking one up when they hit stores in the fall.

there will be 3 new drivers comeing out apparently a carbon headed one, a pear shaped one similar to the 905r and a triangle shaped one like the d1

The other site would only be assuming then. This patent issued for Acushnet who owns both Titleist and Cobra. So when the patent released there was no way of knowing what driver it would be….a Titleist or Cobra. We assume Cobra since this does not resemble anything Titleist has done.

But in regards to the pear shape don’t be surprised if Titleist strays away from the traditional on this one. Remember no one makes a traditional head anymore. You might see one pear shaped but the other new Titlesit stuff for end of 08 and early 09 will most likely not be a traditional pear shape.

ive seen this on another site listed as the sketches for next years cobra driver. not the titleist 909. also after the 907 D1 titleist wil probably be hesitant to change from the classic pear shape.
