Titleist/Vokey Launches WedgeWorks Exclusives – Get Vokeyfied!

WedgeWorks.com – No Longer Just Limited To The Few

This is not official…especially since we don’t even work for Titleist…but nevertheless we want to un-officially announce that Vokey wedges has a brand new slogan.  And it’s one that is being resurrected from a company that started the same slogan way back in 1974.

“Vokey Wedges – Have It YOUR Way!”

Anyone remember that Burger King slogan?  Well if you do then you might already get the jest of where we are going with this post.  Customization & Personalization is where it’s at in many industries right now and it’s no different in golf.

But up to this point when it came to the type of customization that Vokey is going to start offering July 15th …you were talking “Tour Players ONLY”.  At MyGolfSpy we get the luxury of seeing a lot of this highly customized gear but…99% of the time it is because we are spying in the bag of a guy on tour…or inside one of the OEM’s tour vans.

Well the guys behind the Vokey wedges have decided to bring that tour van and tour player experience and service to the everyday golfer with “WedgeWorks  2010 Exclusives.  Starting July 15th you will now be able to customize your new Vokey just like the guys on tour…and for those lefties out there…they didn’t forget about you either.  Your options will be the following:

1. Toe Engraving & Paintfill Options

2. Hand-Stamping (Up To 8 Letters)

3. Custom Paintfill (20 Colors To Choose From)

4. Shaft Upgrades (5 To Choose From)

5.  Custom Shaft Bands & Custom BV Grips (8 To Choose From)

Vokey WedgeWorks Packages

This is an extension and the next obvious move from the original WedgeWorks portion of the Vokey.com site.  The original WedgeWorks offered Limited Edition wedges from Vokey with some special grinds and finishes.  It was an instant hit!  The only complaint they were getting was that the Limited Editions they were doing were all selling out too fast and lots of other golfers felt like they were missing out.   Sound slike a good problem to have huh?   So starting July 15th they are coming out with WedgeWorks Exclusives in addition to the original WedgeWorks Limited Editions.

There will be 2 exclusive finishes to choose from (Bright Brushed Chrome & Oil Can Zero).  And there will be 2 different prices for different levels of customization. Early on the wedges will all have the TVD grind.  Standard wedges start at $150.

  • WedgeWorks Links Package = $175
  • WedgeWorks Tour Package = $200

I think this was a great move on Titleist/Vokey’s part to offer such customizations to the public. There are more and more sites like MyGolfSpy showing golfers who might not have had access to info like this (seeing all the custom gear on tour) in the past.  So there are more and more golfers becoming aware of the type of custom gear being played on tour and now they can get that same type of customization.  It is the first of the big boys in the wedge game to offer this.  So kudos!

P.S. – Remember it launches on July 15th…we will have some custom pics of our MyGolfSpy Vokeyfied Wedge to show you before launch!

WOW! Are so many golfers really concerned with all these custom options? To me it’s really superficial to be able to custom colors of engravings on a golf club. No one cares that you have your initials on your wedges or that the color of vokey in the same as your grips, golf bag and outfit!

I like that Vokey and Titleist are making the effort to get some sort of customization available on these wedges. I can only imagine how long it took just to determine just how much they’d offer. Once you open that custom can of worms, it can get out of hand in a heartbeat.
Love the TVD look, like the “saw” engraving, the handstamping examples don’t look the best, but they definitely look handstamped.
I won’t be buying, but like to see this made available.

I would do it. However, I am in the process of trying to figure out what iron set to buy when I get back from deployment. So I;ll have to wait till I get them to figure out which two I want.

Aside from the customization, how are these clubs different from the ’09 SM?

You can, but at double the price. I think Titleist is going to hit a homerun with this one.

Scratch offers most of these services, but I am not sure just what level of wedge you have to buy to get them all. I know that my Tour Dept. wedges would have run me $300 each, so I am not sure how this compares. I can’t figure out if the Package prices are on top of the basic cost or if the packages include the cost of the wedges.
Personal preference would put a pair of new Vokeys in my bag over Scratch’s works, but it is purely one Mann’s choice.

For that kind of price… I’ll do my own paint fills. LOL!
