Love it! Ended up buying the VR, cause I hated thge square Mach. I;ve played the Sumoo 5000 for a couple years… Wish I had waited for this one, I think.

I love the square version of the Nike drivers and square versions of Mach Speed Hybrids, I
wish they would make the new black Mach Speed Driver in the square version also.

I don’t think this would be a good driver, but i might try a 5 wood.

The black trend really started back in the early 2000’s with Cleveland Golf introducing wedges and then irons with the black finish. No question though Adams has ridden this look to success.

Yeah, other companies have done a black club here and there (TM Superquad, Cobra S2, etc.) but Adams really marketed the fact that the clubs were black which is different than other manufacturers out there. Plus the clubs they decided to make black are by far their best offerings ever.

alpha reaction driver from 5 years ago had an all black driver caused somewhat by a cryogenic treatment process.

I guess Adams Golf was on to something with this “Black” trend (the 9064LS is awesome btw). Not a real Nike fan here but that is a good looking driver.

I don’t think that Adams was really the inventor of the black trend, I’m sure someone can correct me if there was something that came out before it, but I think the Taylor Superquad was the first all black driver…and Cleveland had gunmetal irons long before Adams. I will give them credit for taking it all the way through their line though, gutsy when you’re the “little guy”

MOI Golf has a driver called The Darkside. It came out about 3-4 years ago, I think. I’ve never hit one, but it looks great and fellow long drivers say that it is one of the lowest spinning heads on the market.
The question is, did Nike use the ticn coating…or is it just painted black.

I think you will find that Alpha had a black driver well before the OEMs. Can’t remember the name, but I think it was a 460cc driver so probably not that much ealier, but definitely before the super quad.

I actually kind of like this. It reminds me of a stealth bomber or something. Why that would appeal to me in golf club form, I have no idea, haha, but this is definitely better than the first machspeed. I feel the square fad has come and gone.

So I’m guessing this will be “longer and straighter”… well, I guess you could throw in any positive adjective- “you’ll have a bigger tax refund!”; “Girls will think you’re popular!” but only if you buy this one. To change it up a bit- if the first Machspeed was the Batman Begins model, this one is the Dark Knight version… but unlike the movies, I don’t think this sequal is better than the first.

Justin, I am really disappointed with this post. How did you omit “more forgiving” from the description? B- for you!!!!

Got the Machspeed Black round in August ’11, and can honestly say it added 30yards to my drive and is so forgiving that shots that come off the heel or toe still go straight. Had a bad hook and was really struggling, so decided to get an adjustable head driver, chose the Nike b’cause had a Nike b’fore and boy did I make the right choice. Am 14 h/cap and get now avg 270 yards with not much roll as I live in Ireland and fairways are usually wet.
So if you need a game changer that will not brake your pocket, the Machspeed Black is your only man.
