Man I cannopt wait to check the CMB’s out…I currently game the PRO a12. Our Adams rep came by the EW store and showed these (I heard) but I did not get to see them…bummed. However, I would probably order them with KBS Tour, stiff (liek my a12 irons) becuase I have tested the C-Taper and I do not like the feel of them…KBS Tour shafts RULE!

      OK guys, Tee it up…
I hit the new CMB today with the stiff stock C-Taper shaft. Those of you that are Adams Iron fans better place you order now. Mid June delivery. My favorite iron has been the A4 until now, the new CMB is the most solid iron I have ever hit. I only hit the PW and the 6 irom but WOW. I will have a set to show to my students this weekend and I will take picts and see if I can get them posted. I was right about the satin finish, looks great.
      Good Luck

My date with the new Adams CMB irons has been put off until late week. I will post notes after.
I will also check out the possibility of made for Adams C-Taper, very possible.

I agree that sometimes Adams selects an odd shaft for a great head…CB3. The ctaper is in use on tour in forgrd heads. I have not played the C-Taper. It may be a lot like to PX that has had great success.
      We will see.
Have you looked at the XTD Fairway, it’s HOT. With the new VTS shaft from UST it is a rocke tfrom the fairway and the tee.

The C Taper isn’t exclusive to only forged heads on tour. There are a lot of pro golfers who don’t play forged irons who if they wanted could play the c taper.

Mike, I’ll be very interested to hear about your experience with the CMBs. Based on what Kim Braly of KBS was saying about the C-tapers when they were released, that kind of strikes me as an odd choice of shaft.

It’s very possible it’s a C Taper “Made for Adams” that features different flexural profile than the aftermarket C Taper.

Hmmm, that’s certainly possible, I suppose. The reason I find it odd is that Braly was pretty adamant that the C-Taper was designed for the 5 percent of the golfing public powerful enough to actually generate excessive spin. I know for a fact that ain’t me, but I wouldn’t mind having that cool C-Taper sticker on my club shafts!

the CMB Iron is very refreshing in satin chrome, In the hands of the reps now for mid June release. Set make up is usual 4-G. Std shaft will be the KBS c taper. Due to hit it on tuesday, will post results.

So will these be the last truly official Adams irons?
and if so did they go out like lions or lambs?

Like these, Adams makes good equipment. Hope they don’t change for retail and that TM doesn’t stick Adams in the basement and relegate them to clubmaking for the Dick’s / SAs of the world.

I haven’t found anything yet that I like more than the Adams ATour Reds, but I’ll be anxious to give these a try. The sole grind and the top line will be what makes it or breaks it.

These look awsome, but in no way do they look like a replacement iron to the MB2’s… They look like a satin version of the CB3’s and while I like the look I will certainly need a great deal more information before I pass final judgement… and I game Adams Idea Pro Black MB’s or the Adams A12 Pro’s…

Not my favorite from Adams. Kind of wish they made the golden part either chrome, to match the rest of the head, or red, to match the Adams logo.

Great looking irons. Looks alot like the A12 Pro, with perhaps a slight bit of more mass in the muscle area, plus Tungsten.

Very nice. Look to me like the deluxe version of a proA12, and if that’s true I’ll be super excited to give these a whirl. Good to see a diversification of the finishes with the satin. Hope we get some other views soon!
