(4) Testers Wanted: Shot Scope Performance Tracking System

A Better Way to Track?

The golf shot and performance tracking arena is getting a tad crowded. And while every player brings something unique to the table, there’s always something. With Game Golf you have to “tag” before every shot. With Arccos you have to have your phone in your pocket.

The Scotland-based Shot Scope, however, says you won’t be needing any of that, Laddie, just a band on your wrist.

Shot Scope - 7

Testers Wanted:

According to the company, the Shot Scope wristband automatically knows what club you’re swinging, and it is able to sense the difference between a real swing and a practice swing. There’s no “tagging” (that’s so 2014), and you can leave your phone in your bag, in your cart, or in your car. Shot Scope collects all the shot data you could ask for and organizes and presents it in an easy-to-use app.

Is Shot Scope a shot tracking game changer, or another in a long line of technology wannabes?

We need 4 of you to put this baby to the test and help us find out.

Actually I had tested this and returned after i week use. It is not gps but based on google maps so one the first tee it sadi I hit my drive 300yards as it assumes you have gone off the white tees but here in the UK with wet ground we use a winter tee 50 yards forward so it was wildly inaccurate on my first shop. it does pick up 2nd and 3rd shots accurately as it works out where you are on the course. you cannot use it on a driving range as you would have to go down the range and find your ball and hit it again for it to work out distance!
The wristband is not cumbersome and it is easy to link to a pc or mobile its just they have missed a massive opportunity by not using GPS so i would same a garmin and range finder is still the way to go
they refunded me 100% with no quibble so they have good service but the wrong technology,
      hope that helps, cousins

I’m 71 years old and play over 100 rounds a year. My last 18 holes was a 74. I use a Garmin GPS. Ninety percents of those rounds were walked. I would be interested in testing your range finder! Thank you!

Saw this at PGA show in Orlando… yes a little bulky, but very lightweight. No tagging and no phone needed while playing, just push # of putts button at hole location. Very hands free and made in Scotland, which is a neat twist.

I just returned my ARCCOS because it sucked. Would love to try this because I have a data set against which I can compare.

This. Arccos v3 will likely no longer require the pocket phone and will integrate with the watch. Waiting for that one. Plus I don’t like v1 of any tech… Arccos will have had time to work out all of the kinks over the first two versions.

I really don’t think I could play golf with that thing on my wrist. Would be too much of an annoyance.
