(6) Testers Wanted: EVNRoll Putters

A couple of months ago we put Guerin Rife’s EVNRoll putters to the test. Much to our surprise, all 4 of the EVNRoll models we tested outperformed our 2016 Most Wanted Winners in both the blade and mallet categories. That’s right; the EVNRoll bested the legendary PING Ketsch and the Odyssey White Hot RX #1.

EVNRoll Technology

evnroll-test-4

The explanation for EVNRoll’s performance can be found in it’s unique (and patented) groove design. The proprietary design does two things.

Firstly, the grooves transfer more energy to the ball on off-center hits. Like PING’s TR Grooves, EVNRoll’s grooves structure effectively reduces ball speed at the center of the face, while progressively increasing it towards the edges. The end result is the ball comes off the face at the same pace regardless of where impact occurs.

Secondly, EVNRoll’s milling pattern helps gear the ball the back towards the center on those same mis-hits. Putts not only roll the same speed, but they also roll to the same spot.

Sound too good to be true? We thought so too…right up until our test results validated the claims.

Testers Wanted

Guerin Rife believes his EVNRoll technology can make you a more consistent and more accurate putter. Our preliminary tests certainly support that contention, but we’re excited to get EVNRoll technology into your hands. Will your EVNRoll experience mirror our own?

MyGolfSpy is looking for six golfers to put the EVNRoll putter to the test. Forum members selected to participate in this test will work directly with Guerin Rife (via phone) to get fitted for the right EVNRoll model. Once you receive your putter, test it head to head against your gamer and report your findings.

Jan 24, 2017 – Just came across Golf Digest 2017 Hot Liste ranking both Evnroll EER2 and Mallet putter as ”Silver”.
What to think of these relative ranking versus the long list of ”Gold” awarded putter?

No testing sign up necessary. Gaming an ER-2 for the past two months. The only putter I’ve been able to find that knocked ALL of my other sticks back into their shipping boxes. From Bettinardi to Scotty to Ping to younameit-Igotit, all now on the retired list. Can sing the praises of this putter all day long, but I’ll leave you all to make up your own minds with just this one tidbit: The first time you line up a 15-20 ft. putt on a green that you’re familiar with, in regards to pin placement, green speed/grain direction, slope, break, etc., and you mishit the putt just enough off the face that you know you’re going to burn the edge, and miss right or left, and you see the freaking ball visibly curve back and drop in…well, all I can say is it was spooky as hell the first time it happened to me.

Just picked mine up last Friday at the Carlsbad facility; the guys were great and Mr. Rife was there to discuss putting and the business side of putters. Similar to the comments above – I’ve got quite a few excellent putters that will soon be on eBay. My ER-1 is that good. You really need to get them on the putting green and give them a try. Compare EVNRoll to your current putter. Hit them all over the face. Have a blast. Really looking forward to my new putter after I’ve got some great practice sessions and rounds under it’s belt. Enjoy.

Thank you for the opportunity to possibly be part of the EVNroll putter test. As an engineer, I really can appreciate the innovative design and technology Guerin Rife and his R&D team has incorporated into this new putter line. I would love to test the putter my odyssey white ice DART mallet putter – 370g head, 33in, with tigershark 120g Super Stroke grip. I have a 12 handicap index, live in Michigan, and play 65+ rounds a year. I also have an indoor putting green which allows me to roll the flat stick year round.
Hopefully I can help with the feedback you desire.

I am semi retired, 70 years old and a pretty good putter (25-30 per round) but I must admit I am fascinated by this review. I play 70 – 100 rounds per year (weather dependent) in Iowa, Nevada, and Florida. I now play to a 15.5 index based upon 40 rounds this year (low because of broken hip May 1, 2016). I am using and pleased with a Cameron Future X Dual Balance. I would be delighted to work with you on this project. Jim

Let me start by thanking all of you at MyGolfSpy and EVNRoll for putting up this opportunity for all of us who would like to test one of the best putters ever created. My name is Max Robles, I am a 16 year old golfer from Tucson, AZ. My handicap is currently around a 6, I play approximately between 130-150 rounds per year, and sadly have around 34-36 putts per round with my Taylormade Daytona Rossa putter. I am currently in the market for a putter, and have looked at various different brands, such as your own.

I own an ER2 and it’s great, feel is solid not hollow and it’s weighting options, depending on length, are perfect for me along with just enough toe hang. First round I made 6 birds missed 2 others, was hitting it close that day but that’s really rare for me as a 1.3. I changed from a Bettinardi Kutcher Model 1 and have no regrets, loved that one but this is better.

I purchased an ER2 almost when I first read the article. I’m not that fickle of a putter buyer but it was almost identicle to my then current Bettinadi Kutcher Modle 1 so I thought I’d give it a chance as that putter was a pinch light to me at 350 and 32.5″.
I’ve only played 1.5 rds (rained out on 2nd) but my first was amazing. 6 birdies, was hitting it well (I’m a 1.3) and within 15′ for most of these putts except for one of 40′ that I made. Barely missed two others. In my 2nd round I had 2 nice one go in before being rained out. I personally think this putter will work better for me than my previous one and will stay in for a few yrs if not longer. It is heavier which is great, I’m a shorter player and need to weight as I usually play a putter at 32″ and choke down some from there, leaves me with plenty of weight. The toe hang of about 30* is also about perfect for me according to SamPutt, prior putter was “face balanced”. loving it for now has attest feel, not hollow or I solid like some with grooves.

I have been using a Rife Two Bar Mallett for many many years. Huge fan! Really excited to see Guerin Rife bringing innovation to the putter market. Too many putters simply look good but his actually improve your game while also looking fantastic. I haven’t been compelled to switch until now. I get to play 20-25 times per year. I’d be really good as a 12 handicap but it’s about an 8 right now…. maybe this putter gets me on track to get back to a 4. Thanks and fingers crossed!

Agreed! A lot more testing opportunities than in year’s past. Makes me think that MGS is getting a lot of respect in the industry, and rightly so! Thanks MyGolfSpy!!

Maybe use my Kirkland balls as well. Been gaming 009 for so long I may feel like I’m cheating on her. Signed up on your site as Jeter. Make it happen. Thanks.
