MUST SEE – For All Scotty Cameron Collector’s

For all you Scotty collectors out there…we have a great video for you today. This comes to you from Ryan Crysler at MyGolfPerformance.com. And his video today is here to teach everyone that is interested in buying an Authentic Scotty Cameron Putter on-line how NOT to get ripped off.

Specific Examples Of Scotty Fakes

This video will show you photos of specific examples of Scotty Cameron fakes (images from www.thecameroncollector.com). It will also highlight a couple places to go and check to make sure what you are looking at is legit…you know double and triple checking is always a good thing.

The video is not only good for collectors but also any golfer just looking to buy a Scotty putter. Scotty Cameron putters are the most counterfeited putters on the market so you have to be aware of the signs to look for…for example:

  • Bad engravings
  • Fake weights
  • The “Magnet Test”
  • Shaft band placement
  • and many more…

Real (or) Fake?

So what do you do if you want to make sure the Scotty Cameron of your dreams is the real deal…and not some “Too good to be true” deal? Well watch this video and you will never be fooled again.

Just curious if all Camerons are subject to the magnet test.
I have a Pro Platinum Newport Mil Spec that I bought off of a friend of a friend and my Titleist Dcomp headcover sticks to the face… someone told me that a real Cameron should not do that.. is it a fake!?

Hi, I’m in Canberra, Australia. I just avoided buying a fake studio select newport 2 by using the magnet test. Seller says he bought it new from a golf shop in Sydney. Thanks for helping me out.

Thanks for the comments guys. The folks at http://www.cameroncollector.com are the real experts.

@Dave, yes the camera I use a Casio FH-20 I use for super slow motion swings but it also records in 720p. We just started doing these recently and we will eventually step up the production value in the future! We hope to provide the quality content first and foremost.

Ryan: Good info, as always here but suggest you use a camera with a better microphone and certainly get a bit better lighting in the room you are shooting.

Useful info… If I was going to drop that kind of money on a Cameron, I’d definately be at a authorized Titleist/Cameron Dealership. Not only for authenticity sake, but for the customer service and fitting issues, also. I can understand how a collector of Camerons would get in a tizzy seeing “that special one” on ebay, and lose composure.

Besides Scotty Cameron, who would be next in line loosing money to counterfeited putters? My guess would be Bob Bettinardi. Just a guess.

I really would like to mabye see an article like this on ping putters. I’m also wondering when we will be able to buy that Nike prototype putter that steven Ames uses. I saw pics of it on mgs a long time ago but I don’t think I can wait any more!
