Mitsubishi Rayon Golf
MRC Golf submitted three shafts to MyGolfSpy. Included are the Bassara GG Series, the OT Iron Series, and the Tensei.
MRC Bassara GG Series
The Bassara GG shaft was designed to be one of the most stable profiles in the Bassara line to date. With this shaft, MRC continues to experiment with “foil” decals as well as advancements in ion plating.
This particular series uses a base coat that is ion plated with a silver alloy; a new process for MRC that allows for a brighter finish. This produces more dynamic colors when using dye based paints over the top of ion plating in contrast to traditional pigment based paint. The gold color in the center of the shaft is an example of this technique. MRC is also incorporating a 360 degree foil holographic decal in the butt section designed to showcase the unique GG-Series crest.

MRC OT Iron Series
The OT iron shaft development began in FRANKI, MRC’s idea lab in Japan. The submitted prototypes are representative of the next generation of OT iron shafts. These shafts highlight a unique finish combined with tow prepeg (carbon fibers arranged in super strong bundles like steel) and braiding technology (resistant to twisting and ovaling creating a shaft with no spine).

MRC Tensei
The TENSEI Series is a testament to MRC’s commitment to experimentation with exotic and visible materials. This is a next generation shaft series utilizing multi-material design to optimize classic, tour proven, MRC bend profiles. The TENSEI is a prototype utilizing a carbon-Kevlar weave.

Paderson
Paderson Kinetixx IMRT

Paderson Diamet Ni Fiber
The Limited Edition Diamet Ni Fiber is described by Paderson as “sophisticated elegance” featuring the worlds only filament wound Ni fiber shaft in a form follows function type of submission.
The Green Kevlar Kinetixx IMRT is the only shaft in golf featuring pre-tensioned continuous fiber filament wound, Kevlar golf shaft. They contain over 40,000 fiber strands in every shaft. Green is the natural color of Kevlar and is seen throughout the shaft. According to Paderson, their bend profiles fit the widest array of player’s swings.

Veylix
Veylix was the only company in the 2015 #ThePimpList to submit a full line of iron shafts. The submissions, the Veylix Arcane Copper Mod 1010 “Wildeye Coppertones Colorway” and Veylix Gatsby “Rusty” might be from the same manufacture, but their finishes are worlds apart.
Veylix Arcane Copper Mod 1010
The Veylix Arcane Copper Mod 7-piece iron shaft set is the first iron in the Arcane franchise. Designed by J.C. Beeson and video game artist Galen “3D” David, are inspired by “Halo” video game character, Cortana’s tatoos; the Ulyssess butterfly, and Olivia Wilde’s eyes.
The shafts were first finished with Veylix’s new richer silver ion plating followed by a second rainbow ion plating. The base shafts were never painted or coated with a primer, so you can see the nuances from the Carbon surface under the ion finish. Each shafts’ backside was laser etched down to the Carbon and then paint-filled in bright green to say “Orange County, CA – “Game Over” Project – 1st Run.”

Veylix Gatsby
The second submission, the Veylix Gatsby Rusty will, as the name suggests, rust over time, allowing for a rusty-on-rusty shaft and wedge combination. Designed by J.C. Beeson and KT Kim of Solinco Sports, these Gatsby’s are a 3-piece short game iron shaft that starts with the Arcane Copper Mod 1010 base. After the 40T + braided copper, these were given a full copper coating and then plated with Nickel and Cobalt in an “hourglass taper.” The finished product is 131g with a pebbled-rough Nickel Cobalt finish. No paint, decal, or clear coat has ever touched these – which allows the rust to deveop. The simple art is done by laser.

XPHLEXXX
XPHLEXXX Agera
Rob Head, the owner of XPHLEXXX, might very well have a new long drive shaft company, but Head is a veteran in the internet golf community. Posting for many years under the screen name Robopti, Head is no stranger to being a #Pimp, often referring to himself in third person as, “The Pimp Daddy.” Head is responsible for generating some of the most colorful content in the golf forum world before launching his new long drive shaft company, XPHLEXXX.

XPHLEXXX Busa Liquid 1
The name of his company was born out of the stereotypical internet golfer. Everyone with a screen name seems to play to a scratch handicap, drives the ball 350 yards with a baby cut, and always plays double extra-stiff shafts…or “XPHLEXXX”. Having a long-standing history and respect in the long drive arena, Head started XPHLEXXX in partnership with Veylix, specializing in 48” raw shaft options with extra-stiff shaft offerings. The result is shafts with ultra low spin, and unmatched dispersion.

XPHLEXXX Busa Liquid 2
The XPHLEXXX submissions are as unique as The Pimp Daddy himself. They include the Rainbow LD Concept, Busa Liquid 2 Special Edition, and Agera for the mortals among you (it’s the only XPHLEXXX shaft offered as soft as stiff flex).
Incorporated into the design elements of XPHLEXXX shafts are silhouettes of perfectly shaped, curvy, nude females! The Busa Liquid 2 Special Edition has a UV reactive coating that changes colors from a light sky blue to rich indigo when exposed to sunlight. The shaft returns just as quickly to sky blue in the once the sun disappears.

ALDILA
Aldila OCD Ghost Flame
Aldila provided MyGolfSpy with three submissions. All three are one-off custom designs, made exclusively for the MyGolfSpy’s #ThePimpList. The team of John Oldenburg (shaft design), Keith Hoefer (paint), and Jose Moreno (graphics) produced: OCD Ghost Flame, OCD Chromed Oriental, and We The People.

Aldila OCD Chromed Oriental
The term OCD refers to an Aldila Original Custom Design. It’s also a nod to the design team’s obsessive compulsive attention to detail. The graphics on the We The People submission, contain the entire preamble to the U.S. Constitution, and like the Chromed Oriental design, are engraved into the shaft. Although these designs are not readily available to the public, that could change with consumer feedback.
