Callaway’s PGA Show Booth – By the Numbers

Depending on your perspective, infographics are either totally awesome, or they are totally depressing indicators of the modern attention span.

Regardless, let’s give Callaway some credit for taking a humorous (at least I hope it’s supposed to be humorous) approach to sharing some of their PGA Show booth’s key stats.

A few things stand out to me:

1/5 Scale for its Dreamliner? Talk about half-assed, full blast. Hapless Callaway couldn’t even get a real jet.

I’m kidding too…Callaway made every reasonable effort (and then some) to procure some actual flight grade hardware for the booth. It’s always the little things that trip you up. In this case, it’s not the jet (Callaway had an F-18 ready to go), it’s the insurance. I’m told 2017 details are already taken care of, and we should expect something HUGE next year.

2,500 XR Logo Mini-Footballs Given Away. And here I thought I got away with stealing one. I’m left feeling like I accomplished a little less this year.

1,009 clubs in the Booth. Things have a way of disappearing at the PGA Show. Is 1009 the starting number, or the finishing number, because no way do I think they’re the same.

More to Come

We’ll have plenty more to say about the 2016 PGA Show in the coming hours, days, and probably even weeks.

So, I guess they wouldn’t bring the tank back?

I support with my dollars the companies that make the effort to be at the show. Weird Nike or Mizuno wasn’t there and definitely projects a bad message by not attending

Could argue it projects a sense of fiscal responsibility. Those two weren’t the only ones not there. Lots of talk of being strong-armed by the organizers along with outrageous fees for any little thing. If things don’t change, I think you’ll see more companies skip. Value just isn’t there.
