Winner! – March 2012 Forum Member of the Month

Congratulations!

MyGolfSpy would like to congratulate March’ 2012’s “MyGolfSpy Forum Member of the Month”, WDGolf.

It’s becoming increasingly more difficult to pick a winner as more and more of you are actively participating in our forums. We appreciate everyone whose contributions help grow our community, but there can only be one winner. Looking back through the contributions of everyone who our staff nominated, it was impossible not to notice wdgolf’s active participation in more threads that I care to count (seriously…it was a lot…enough to validate any argument that he should be the guy – so I stopped counting). More importantly however, his contributions were meaningful…none of this “looking at me I’m commenting to try to win a contest type stuff”. We are indeed fortunate that he chooses to spend so much time here.

From the entire staff at MyGolfSpy, Thank You, WDGolf, for helping us grow our community.

About the Forum Member of the Month

The Forum Member of the Month isn’t simply given to the forum member who starts the most topics, or comments on the most posts. It’s given to a reader we feel has done an outstanding job of eliciting conversation, contribution to the discussion, and ultimately helping grow the MyGolfSpy Community.

As the name suggests, each and every month we will select a new winner, and while there will be some overlap, every month’s prize package will be unique. So if you haven’t become a member of the MyGolfSpy forum yet…now is a perfect time to start. The MyGolfSpy Forum now has over 12,300 members and over 48,500 golf posts…so you are sure to find fellow golfers who share your passion for the game…and now you can win some kick-ass prizes as well.

Id like to nominate myself im not in anyway seaking pitty please just bare with me this past year has probably been one the most chalenging years i’ve faced yet in my 32 years of life. Earlier this year i lost my eldest brother due to untreated mental illness and phisycal health related problems. Then the day after next my Father , apx a month later my mothers MOM “my Nana” and now we’re loosing my mothers father to dementia ect. But i did something i never tried before to deal with what i was going threw it was late at night and was watching something about golf and i made me think now they look at peace and focused on what they are doing “as i watch tiger set up for his lobshot” i noticed how pros become so ingolfed…lol in what they were doing they create almost trance like state to remove any distractions, from their its mechanics mechanics tempo and more mechanics. i wont go so far as saying im good yet but just over the winter ive developed great consistant contact. i couldnt of done it without all the top notch info here im a little league baseball coach 9-10yo, NJ division of fish and wildlife conservation corp volunteer. avid fishermen and archer. its now fall due to my lymes im recently disabled and can no longer work in my career as an electrician…. So after alot of thought i’ve decided to devote my life to civic duty an also awareness and prevention of lymes disease. on the 24th i completed all state requirements to coach athletics in New Jersey. Now im working on setting up a non-profic LLC For a team organization. The name of my team so far is. NJ Pinebarrens’ Timber Rattlers. i would like a small golf team , my sons baseball team, fishing ,archery teams and much much more find me on face book all info of what im doing im recording it using facebook. celebs have also found me to offer kudos…

I’m a hard luck guy, who could use a break or two, like winning your monthly prize. In my golfing career of 72 years, I have made 1 hole in one and 3 holes in 3. The first 2 holes in 3 were made on the same par 3 at Winton Woods CC in Cincinnati, OH. Each time it was in a tournament, where I shanked the first shot out of bounds and knocked the next one in the hole. I won the tournament each time. The third hole in 3 came at the Frenchman’s Creek CC in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, when I shanked the ball into a lake and then holed the next one.
In a club championship match, the shaft on my driver broke on the very first hole, and I had to play the longest hitter in the tournament, driving with my #3 wood. I won the match. I lost my wedding ring while playing in a skins game on Saturday morning. I almost got skinned alive.
While playing on a Sunday, with 3 strangers, I was 6 under par on the front nine, going to number 9. I bogied for a course record, 5 under par. The next day, a holiday, playing with 3 more strangers, I birdied the same 6 holes and bogied the 9th hole to tie my course record. The record still stands as they totally redesigned the course. One night, while playing 2 balls on each hole, I airmailed a par 3 with a #6 iron then pulled out a #7 iron and knocked the next ball into the hole. The next day, that was the par 3 where you could win a car for a hole in one. I paid $5 to enter the contest and shanked my tee shot into a lake. There is more.

Hi golfspy I am personally putting myself forward in the quest to becoming a future golfspy forum member of the month. I can do a good moon walk, spin a basketball on my finger for quite a while, do lots of keepy ups with a (soccer) football, drink quite a lot of beer and not get too drunk and know how to balance chemistry symbol equations. I believe all of the above prizes would be loved if they were to find their way to my home. Oh and I love you but will not perform any sexual acts for the prizes…..though I may be persuaded to talk dirty.

      Please consider me next month……

      Love
