I’m a consistent 14 handicapper and have been using my beloved g2 set for a few years, I took the leap and splashed out on the k15,s , driver, irons and 3and 4 hybrid, took 3 strokes off my handicap without changing my swing or going for coaching , I can only put this down to the confidence inspiring feel of the k15,s………. I would highly recommend , I promise I don’t work for PING.lol. Seriously though, top clubs

I’ve been playing the Ping-eye irons for 30 years and I bought them used! I love them but have decided to buy the K-15’s and see what happens. I’m a 14 handicapper and hope to improve by a few strokes. They feel great! I’ve been playing the G-2 driver, 3 and 5 for 5 yrs and have switched to the K-15’s. Everyone says that I should see some improvement in my game. I hope they’re right.

Steve – thanks for shutting Justin up….enough was enough, already! I have Ping i15s because prefer a smaller clubhead and love Ping equipment. I did buy a K15 five wood and the pancake style head isan intriguing – very confidence-inspiring shape. It tends to launch VERY straight shots. My be tempted to try the Driver – current stick is a G10.

I purchased the new K15 driver and have played 2 rounds with it. I had been using the G10 for the past year. I do find the K15 to be a little longer, but, it’s a different club, higher loft, and a different shaft than the G10 so not exactly apples vs apples.

However, I do find I have to put a different swing on the ball with the K15. The ball really wants to go left and I have a tendency to pull the ball anyway, so this really makes me concentrate harder and think nice sweet swing thoughts :).

After 2 rounds, I’d say the K15 is superior to the G10. I firmly believe after a little more time with the K15 I’ll hit 80% of fairways, no sweat.

The shaft I chose is the Aldila R.I.P. It’s a perfect shaft for me and my swing……. of course YMMV and probably will.

Went to a ping demo day and used the new K15 driver after using a G10 since they were released. Results were outstanding- old driver 250-260m with slight fade. K15 280-290 dead straight 9 shots out of 10 no coaching or swing adjustments. Simply brilliant!!!!

I have an original Rapture set of irons but I would like to upgrade to a newer set (the endles quest for the Holy Grail…I do avail of coaching as well). I play off 15-16 and was thinking along the lines of the G15s. Can someone with the necessary technical knowledge please give an insight as to what (if any) they would see as to the benefits of going for the K15s.

My Pings are 12 years old and I am thinking of new clubs. Do I buy the G15’s or wait and buy the K15’s. I’m a 15 handicapper and cannnot afford to buy a set of clubs every 2 years. I want to purchase them from the local club so I don’t get some knock-off set from some cut-a deal thief.

Hi I would like to say, I have been playing Ping Eye2’s beryllium coppers for I think 16 years great clubs still have them and love them. But got fitted for G15’s last November. And with no more practice or tuition have knocked 4 strokes of my handicap. I have been a consistant 12 of many years down to 8 and loving it. I can only put it down to the G15’s. A great set of bats.

      Justin,
This is the second time. Stop using this comment board to pimp your bullsh*t HIREKO clubs. This is just a wild guess, but I think PING probably spends a lot more dough on R&D and the best engineers. Add to that their experience and I’m betting that their equipment is better than some no name crap that you are pushing. If you are cheap, then golf is not likely to be an enjoyable sport for you. If you want value, then buy last year’s Hot List models. It will still be better than a knockoff or low budget club. I am willing to pay for a name brand. If you are not, don’t rip on PING. Start a HIREKO blog and see how many people tune into your party. Have fun.

I’m sure there are plenty of Ping fanboys out there–the clubs have a loyal base and perform great after a good Ping fitting.

Ping has always been a leader in design… but I’m not a big fan of the side sole in irons… if this 7 iron is an indicator of the width, I’m not in favour of it. I do like the K15 driver though…

I like the look of them, but then I liked the look of the G/I 15s as well. I hope there is actually something to this change and they aren’t the same clubs with minor facelifts (and conforming grooves on the shorter irons).

PING is always the first to introduce their next lineup and it has served them well over the past few years. PING has a definite loyal fanbase. i can sell this stuff to guys that i just fitted for g/i 15’s but the more likely buyer upgrades their ping equipment every 2 or so years. that is when you see noticable technology changes from the boys out in arizona that i hate to deal with.

It’s sad that people who just dropped $700+ on a set of irons are so quick to spend another $700+ on the “latest and greatest”. I highly doubt the “new and shiny” is lowering their handicaps- why else would they continue the search for the magic wand?

      IAN,
been busy so it took a while to reply. yes you are correct for starters about the ridiculous lengths i have seen PING go to for price protection but i have been in the industry a while and have seen how they neglect the sales reps that move their product. i have some pro’s that i teach with that are PING STAFF PLAYERS and cant get product in any timely fashion. they have been sponsors of sectional events that i play in and on numerous occasions been non-existent at the tournement. i have seen these great guys at PING also revoke/suspend solid accounts for little or the no reason. i’ll tell you strait up that im a TAYLORMADE STAFFER as of this year after being with CALLAWAY for many years and they are not by any means perfect but they are professional and understanding. in my opinion they all should take lessons from BRIDGESTONE on how to handle accounts.

Matt, If you haven’t actually seen or held the clubs, there is a pretty big difference between the g15s and the i15s, but that is another story.

The K15 clubs are indeed super game improver, have a titanium face which allows other material to be placed lower and further back in the head.

They will come 5-LW and Hybrids are available as part of the set to replace irons 3-6 as required.

      Hope this helps.

Seriously Ping? those irons look exactly like the g15, and i15’s…how about you show us something to motivate the average consumer to buy the product. the average golfer isnt gonna know the difference between these multi material irons and the g15 and i15’s…the fact that they all look the same doesnt help either…

Honestly, that could be said for EVERY major OEM. Ping makes a Ti faced club… woop-dee-doo. Like this is the first time anyone’s ever done that? Go to Hireko.com- they have a Ti faced iron that came out BEFORE this one. Of course, theirs says “Acer” and this says “Ping”, so these K-15’s just HAVE to be better…

This is Ping “multi-material” line, the iron has a titanium face and probably some type of tungsten weighting. Similar to the Rapture line, I suspect this will be higher $$$.

You’re right in that they will replace the Rapture line in every way, but these will actually be made more affordable (hence getting rid of the Rapture line). That’s what I remember about them, but you should check it out if you want to be sure.
